Good news today.  HLJ e-mailed me to say they have finally got the backordered Su-34 (Tamiya rebox of Italeri plastic) I had ordered about six months ago.  I'd given up on ever getting this.  It's gone up slightly due to the exchange rate changing but it's still a bargain even with shipping.

Picked up this little beauty in Berlin last week.

I think I "reacted" to that with the love heart emoji on Facebook, Chris. That reaction is still valid. What a cool little thing!

It's a good thing they didn't include the checkpoint on the other side of the Wall, it was VAST! Maybe 20 times as big as the American hut. The model would have been a yard square at least.

Agreed. This pic shows the removal of the final incarnation of the Checkpoint Charlie hut in 1990.
The vast building behind was the East German border checkpoint which took quite a bit longer to remove.

They just released this a couple days ago. I can't WAIT to get it. I'm throwing everything else off the workbench when this arrives and starting immediately.

I got it for $25 total. A lot of the other people selling it want $50 or more. I considered ordering a bunch and re selling them but I ain't got the time for all that. Now, I just hope it GETS here from Japan. Things coming from that far get lost in transit some time.

While I was at it, I also picked this doo-dad up:

I got one of those Mitsubishi's.  They are now boxed under the Arii brand.
IME Arii kits fit pretty well, detail is a bit faint and they are made from an odd matt finished plastic.
The L3M1 looks pretty good in the box but i've not tried any bits together yet.  My version has lots of extra parts including all the glazing for the bomber.

I can remember going to BMW's in Wimbledon and seeing all those origional Japanese imported brands like LS etc. Real eye openers at the time but you needed to be wary re scale as a fair few were 1/75th. Some were even odder and I swear were 1/96th or so ?

Didn't some of the LS and Bandai kits come with optional transparent fuselages Chris?

I can recall at least one Japanese twin engined bomber kit that came like that but I have no idea what type it was.

Gondor

A couple of additions today, one a rescue from the local sorting office and the other a neighbour looked after for me

1 x 1/72 Airfix BAC Jet Provost off ebay. Got it cheap as the decals are damaged though looking at them I can hardly see the reason why. No matter it's going with the other five I have to become a Strike Master in foreign livery  ;D

1 x 1/72 Academy Hawker Typhoon Mk.1B To be re-engined with a BMW801 and put in captured markings so the engine can be used with something else.....

I have one of those. 1963 Oscar.  It's a shame.. whoever had it started it, and was doing good work (making individual exhaust fin thingies out of plastic card, etc) but now that I have it, there're no windscreen and canopy. Distant plans for it will be some kitbashing.... do a little swapping of parts... put the wings on something else and blah blah then the 1/75 won't matter.   ;D

I love that the Oscar has the price printed on it - that's really, really good value for money!  ;D

Yep, the various versions of the Ki 67 Heavy Bomber for one,
including the Ki 109 Heavy Fighter variant with 75mm cannon.

I'd completely forgotten about that it was so long ago, but yes they dd. We had a next door neighbour (actually downstairs) when I was a kid and he had a huge collection of "1/72" Japanese WWII aircraft. I was about 7 or 8 so 1960'ish. Unfortunately he moved before I really got into modelling seriously but the memory has stayed with me ever since. He got me the Pyro Winchester rifle one Xmas and showed me how to get a grain effect on the stock using toilet paper  ;) Happy and simpler days.

It appears my aircraft-buying deviation is officially over & I'm buying armour, like I should! ;D

1/35 British Heavy Tank FV214 Conqueror Mk.I (Amusing Hobbies)
1/35 British Main Battle Tank Chieftain Mk.11 (Takom)
1/35 British Humber Scout Car MK.I w/Twins K-Gun (D-Day) (Bronco)

They all look great in the box!

Big tanks - I'd forgotten just how big the Chieftain is & the Conqueror looks to be even bigger - & the Humber's tiny! :o
