After years of (rather passive) hunting I eventually got hands on a Hasegawa 1:72 MU-2 at a reasonable price.

Which one?  J or S?

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Good question. I think it's the S (the SAR aircraft).

zenrat

The shorter one then.
For reasons known only to Hasegawa it comes with a Jeep.

It's probably the result of an internal competition within Hasegawa's staff to up the part count of their kits.......unless anyone has a better reason.

Collected the Pavla Canberra PR9 cockpit upgrade for the 1/72 Airfix kit from 'Models for Sale' today. What a wondrous bit of resin moulding it is, I'm seriously impressed.

It'll be a RW build of course, of XH131, 'My Canberra', aboard which I was privileged to sit last month.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I've got a few Pavla sets and I'm always impressed by the quality of the moulding. The down side is that some of the parts are extremely fragile, especially when you have support struts moulded in resin. I'm currently planning using one of their weapons sets but I think the struts will need replacing somehow  :o
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Collected from the post office, the Hasegawa 1/700 JMSDF DDH184 Kaga, and revised version of the Izumi kit that also includes decent injection moulded F-35B (now they really need to do those in an add-on set, as they would go down a treat.
Also picked up sent from Japan the Finemolds 1/700 Nano-dread sets for Harpoon and Mk32 torpedo tubes, plus the Phalanx set which offers the mk1, the mk1b or the SeaRam as alternate mounts, as the name suggest these are very small and very highly detailed injection moulded parts that are to scale as opposed to the usual chunky over sized lumps that are standard in most kits. These are for my refitted HMS Queen Elizabeth which will have a Type 45 and Type 26 escorts alongside.
