From the Coventry Show today:

High Planes 1/72nd De Havilland Sea Vixen FAW1//D.3 Base Kit without decals. To be RAF.

S&M 1/76th FV621 Alvis Stalwart Mk.1  To be on-loan to British Antarctic Survey as a publicity stunt.

S&M 1/76th FV622 Alvis Stalwart Mk.2

Huma 1/72nd Junkers JU EF 128 (this is the tailless swept-wing single-seater with boundary-layer suction as seen in Luftwaffe Secret Projects).

Airfix 1/72nd Kamov Ka-25A/C (bagged). Cheap co-axial rotor donor. Also, possible mash-up with a Kaman Seasprite to confuse the hell out of everyone...

Dragon 1/144th Tornado F.3 (2 kits in the box). Possible conversion to 1950s delta-wing fighters to go with Stratocruiser AEW. Alternatively, built almost straight to go with an Airbus A400M trailing air-to-air missile re-supply pallets as per the scheme described in Battle Flight.

Also from Coventry, 1/2 mile of assorted Albion Alloys tubing to scratchbuild the missing bits of the Monterey's beaching trolley, 1/2 square mile of 40 thou styrene for model railway projects, 1 bottle of Micro-set (mainly because I keep ON getting bottles of Micro-Sol by mistake  :banghead: :banghead:) a Unicraft  Blackburn B20 kit (!), which was a gift from The Venerable Mike McEvoy  and will no doubt take up much of the rest of my life to finish.

Thank you Mike, I'm dead chuffed about that, even if it will take a lot of work.

Oh yes, the Pavla Canberra PR9 cockpit upgrade set which I picked up from Models for Sale on Friday, en route to Coventry by the country route. What an AMAZING piece of resin moulding that is!  :o

After what seamed like forever

From Allycat

1 x 1/72 Hurricane 'Tin Wing' Conversion set to be a real world build of a Polish Squadron in RAF service during WWII and to replace an donkelys years old Revell kit, the one with the globe stand, which was my first non OOB build but not a whiff build.

Just won on eBay 1/72 Mach2 Super Frelon. From the reviews that I have read, plenty of room to replace parts from my spares bin.

My stash is about to grow again!

From BNA Models;

1 x    1/48 Vought F-8E Crusader [Limited Edition] (Eduard)
1 x    1/350 Tarantul III Corvette (874) (Resin kit) (Orange Hobby)
1 x    1/350 USS "Fort Worth" LCS-3 (Bronco)
1 x    1/72 McDonnell Douglas F-15C Eagle (Academy)
1 x    1/72 Lockheed-Martin F-16CJ Block 50 Fighting Falcon w/Full Equipment & Pilot (Tamiya)

Aircraft & boats? Where's the armour?

These arrived today & they all look good in the box but I must say that the Tarantul looks to be exceptionally well cast (Hope it goes together as well as it looks! There will be whiffery involved, though.).

Today a parcel from Metro Hobbies arrived containing urgent supplies.
Paint, decal bonder, Micro Set and a Tamiya 1/72 Mosquito B IV/PR IV.

Mossie looks good in the box but I think the joint for the separate nose could be an issue.

LMAO - someone beat me to it by four years, although this guy's is based on the old Matchbox diecast. Damn fine job!

It isn't.  Trust me on that as I've built quite a few!  It's a nice fit and the join is largely hidden by the wing.  The only place that *may* be an issue is the nacelle/wing join at the back.  I always have to use filler there.

Well it was new then, but even so it's not a bad kit of a Mk 1.

That's a good haul there.

Thanks Lee.  Glad to hear that.  I get why they made the nose separate but it is an extra seam to get right.

Good win.  Sometimes that happens and it makes your week.
