Nice one Brad, it's a neat little kit and goes together quite well, even in stock form.

I got my Orange Hobby 1/700 USS Midway (1991) resin kit via Starling Models in the post yesterday, I had pre-ordered a couple of months ago. Only had a glance but it looks good and will make a nice contrast with the USN supercarriers and an Angled Deck Essex. Should make a nice comparison with the HMS Malta I'm doing too.

I need to study the ships development as the model is circa 1991 when she was at the end of her service and the airgroup is mostly Hornet and Intruder types. I May see if I can back date her to Phantom it there are no structural changes to make.

Thanks! That's a relief...  I'm probably going to try to get it started soon and I need "easy" stuff so long as it's still summer time. Trying to save more involved builds for the winter break.

I have a Cuban Sea Fury I'm going to do next up and I might do them both at the same time. Going to clear a couple doom projects first, however. . ..

Next up.... I scored an MPM  FH-1 Phantom I!  Going to try to get a Fury and a Pirate to go with it but that'll be next month or maybe even further down the line. .   I actually have my eye on a whif-in-the-box kit that has a Sundowners Navy grey over white scheme. Pretty cool..

Got hands on another Hasegawa 1:72 Mitusbishi T-4, for just EUR 4,- plus P&P.
More fodder to spin my Saab Sk 90 family, which is to include a Scottish (as mentioned in my T-50's background) and (now also) an Austrian aircraft.

I had a good look at this resin model last night and the workmanship is really cool. The etch and brass pack a bit of weight and the decals include a rub down version for the runway part of the flight deck which saves a lot of hassle.

I thought at first some of the pouring lugs were going to be right buggers to remove cleanly but on doing a test fit I see they actually dovetail into each other to form the hanger wall and are also masked by the angled deck sponson so will be invisible. Oddly you get the Intruders and Sea kings but no Hornets, they can be bought a Squadron at a time or could be replaced by Trumpeter ones.

One I shall look forward to building once I complete my research.

To-day from the BigH :

Mark1 1/144 scale Vampires, all three boxings as the markings given are just SO good. So I now have a total of six 1/144 Vampires, what the heck am I going to do with them all?

Gondor

I picked up an ebay order today

1 x 1/72 Sharkit Early Jet Engines set        This gives me the HeS 011 I have been looking for and which everyone misses making in any detail so now I have several projects that a reverse engineered, dimensionally only, engine can be added to aircraft that should have it such as the Me 1101 and the Ar 555.
