It's not UV that causes the clear plastic used in some vacs to go yellow, it's
the chemistry of the plastic, once it goes yellow it's permanently yellow.
Using the yellowed one to make a pattern to vac a new piece is the only
solution.

No chance of that in my case, they'll be built with anti-sun Perspex glazing.

;D ;D

Not happy simply wearing shooting glasses, Biggles had yellow glazing installed in his Dragonfly.

 :o ;D

I was thinking along the same lines... when it comes time to build my lil Myrysky I plan to just use the thing anyway and maybe the dark colors and stuff on the rest of it will help it not look so out of place.. or something.... ;D

Isn't there a Dragonfly at Weston Super-Mare?
Airfix should pop down there with their LIDAR so they can knock up a nice new modern injection kit.
I'm sure there must be other stuff there they could do at the same time.

Two at the last count, and as you say, BAGS of other stuff too.

Then you could get two and do this:

;D

If they ever did a WS-51 it would be nice if they included civil marking options.

My Britavia Dragonfly has UK civvie decals, for BEA I think, but I didn't look too closely.

A kit mule has arrived from the UK bringing a Hasegawa 1/72 Martin Marlin originally shipped by Bungle to my UK Stash holding centre.

That's a lot of very desirable styrene there, nice one.

Yes.  My kit mule did complain about the size of the box.

I just did, and it is BEA, reg. is G-AKCU, in the grey upper and bright red lower scheme.

I've now got one Dragonfly and the Sycamore mouldings taped to a window, just in case the Sun brightening works. If it doesn't, they're both going to have tinted Perspex.  ;D

One weird thing about these kits, one Dragonfly kit suggests using superglue for the whole thing as they say it's moulded from PVC, the other one does give any suggestions at all! The Sycamore, which seems to be moulded from exactly the same plastic, suggests using MekPak.....  :banghead:

I can foresee a lengthy testing session on some scrap bits of plastic.

Has anyone built one of these already as I'd welcome some advice on this gluing matter.

Placed a couple of Hannants's orders over the weekend, I spotted a model art decal set in the 2nd hand section with decals for the RN Westland Dragonfly, the new Suez decal set from Xtradecal and then realised I didn't have a Dragonfly so has to do a 2nd order for a mach2 Dragonfly  :banghead:
Both arrived today, I forgot I had also ordered an RV Aircraft Mirage IIIO which looks OK
