Thanks Kit ---

New to the stash (or very shortly will be in my hands), one of those AZ Models MB6's. My friend Steve Gardner got it for me from Telford as I wasn't in attendance. He also got me another Fujimi 1/72 F-35B a few days earlier, gonna be a TF-35 when it's finished.

The LED daylight bulbs, I used one in the main light fitting of my model room and the other in the light over the work bench. They were great while they lasted but at the price I'd have expected at least a year's worth of use. After all it's not as if I'm working on there all day every day.

The guy just kept on repeating 'UP to xxxxxx hours' in the umpteen emails.

Not very good trading practice I'd say.

My house is full of daylight LED bulbs. Mostly they came from an on-line retailer called Lightbulbs Direct and their's have never failed yet. The only one I've had fail came from an Ebay seller because it was a size and shape Lightbulbs Direct didn't do.

Got myself a bunch of 1:72 resin conversion sets for various tanks/vehicles from Model Trans/Silesian Models, including two whiffy turrets for the massive E-100 tank, a corrected British Staghound turret, a set of early M60 tank wheels and an oscillating turret for/from the American experimental T57 tank (looks pretty futuristic!):

Marvelous

But then again ---  I can get one of those to do a RW 617 Sqn bird, the Fujimi one is going to get kitbashed to no end.

Just pray that nothing goes wrong with anything you buy from the lighting people.

I've bought stuff from them before Kit and had no problem, touch wood. It's always a couple of young ladies on their stand so nor sure if it's the same company as you bought from ?

Definitely the same company, but the bossman never turns up at shows, just sends rude emails.  :banghead:

Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Yet again I have bought some stuff from Hannants, quite a rarity for me. 1/72nd scale AML mirage III recon version with resin camera nose. Bought it blind (and sober) so not sure how good their kits are. Its unarmed, so will at least need pylons for air to air missiles, and a centre line tank. Also bought an avionics spine by airwaves, was going to be used on my f16 xl, but won't fit a single seat bird, so going to use it as reference for a scratch build one, and then on a two seater future project.

I went to Telford without any real needs for my stash, wanting more to get rid of several old kits in my stash which I did with varying scales of success to Models for Heroes and others. My very restrained purchases were....

Academy F-16C Thunderbirds and F-18A Blue Angels, both in 1/72 for just £5 each!
Now, I showed Brad the cheap F-16s so he just had to buy a couple  . In return he got me to buy some sanding sticks in various sizes and shapes!

A resin pre-painted ruined building base for 1/72 armour, again only £5.

One of my 'Holy Grail' kits, an Imai Thunderbird 2. £15. About 20cm long with a trio of vehicles.
Me and Brad were discussing alternative identities including British Rail Freight, Parcelforce, UPS and FedEx. Depends what markings I can find to suit!

OGL would never fit in to anything that size.

One R.S. Models MS 410 and a 1/48th sheet of Walrus transfers from the big H

Not sure what to do with the 410 ? French AF desert scheme ? Or maybe a Thai one, handed over after the 10 day French-Thai "War" in January 1941 ?

Engine swap in the style of Mörkö-Morane? Lacking French parts, the Thai eventually jury-rig one with an Allison engine?
