I got an early Christmas present yesterday! I've recently moved back to my hometown doing the same job, and someone who used to work here offered me a kit that was an unwanted gift to her son. So the stash is now up one Tamiya 1/72 Jaguar GR.1!

Friends on Facebook may have spotted it in my In Tray in a photo of my new desk I shared yesterday  ;)

That kit is a re-boxing of the Italeri kit.

Which, thanks to a member of this forum, I've already built two of! I didn't expect I'd ever have four Jags...gotta come up with a clever scheme for it...

The box was quite heavy as it also has two Tamiya paints (both ones I use lots of) and some cement!

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Ebay says I've won a Sword Spiytfire mk XVIe highback and an Eduard Spitfire IX Royal Combo.  This could well be the cheapest yet - £30!  At that price, each kit in it works out to be as cheap as the Spitfire Overtrees sets from Eduard themselves, but this time with etch, masks, decals and resin.  Result!

Wow, I can remember getting the Chris Ellis book some time in the 80s. I'm amazed it's still available.  :o

I still see Chris at model railway events, he's an editor for one of the model railway mags.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Got this picked up from the post office today, 1/72 scale italeri f-16 CD night falcon. This is going to donate its two seat canopy to my mk2 arrow so as to replace the one on it that I cracked. The rest of the plane might be getting delta wings courtesy of a typhoon, or I might scratch build some if I have some thick enough styrene card.

I was surprised at how nice this kit is for it's age, look really good In the box, although the mould seems a bit worn out.

Interesting addition

I bought it to rob it for wing parts for the flying boat GB.  The HP was a happy accident, I was on my way to a model shop in York and passed a rail model shop that had kits in the window. I intended to get another kit as an engine donor but couldn't pass it up at the price.
However, both are really nice kits and such good partners that I'm thinking seriously about building them oob.
