Fantastic, Dizzy. A real soviet moster.

I take this as a compliment.  ;) Meanwhile, some decoration progress. It might not be obvious, but now the panel post-shading started, I "sharpened" the edges of the black areas with decal stripes, and some more work on the landing gear has been done, e. g. the struts painted with a mix of gold and aluminum, and the wheels have alse been painted (not in a pic, but, of course, with bright green wheel discs.  ;D)

Now some looks at the beast's belly have become available:

Of course! In my mind it was obvious <_< . Sorry if I have generated some doubt.
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Much as I love the work of John Dykstra et al THAT is what the Firefox should've looked like . Superb...reminds me at present of the photos of the unpainted Tu-160.

With the tail fins in place the plane looks as awesome as it should. Can't wait for the beauty shots!

Your mind can't help but boggle at the sight of the 'Fastback'. A Dizzy Tour de Force for sure.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Thank you for the enthusiastic feedback, but it's certainly much too early for a potential winners' circle (even though I like the idea... ;)).

Still some work to do, e .g. the missiles and other small details around the hull like position lights etc. But this bird looks menacing - sits well on its four feet (the lead in the nose was NOT the worst idea!), and I am also already looking forward to "action scenes", esp. in flight.

Dizzyfugu

Not much new to show - but the building phase has been finished. Extensive background has also been collected/written up, and I started working on the photo backgrounds. The Fastback is large, so I will need special tricks and setups.

Any chance of a photoshopped poster from a 'famous' film ;D. Eager anticipation....

Dizzyfugu

Hmm, maybe...?  ;) At least, I have some media coverage planned. Fake News are all the rage at the moment, so the Fastback deserves an appropriate background.
