That AWACS-style Ar 234 was a real project - and a night fighter with a rotating antenna for a panoramic FuG 244 'Berlin N' search radar....

Good find Dizzy, so it was a radar equipped night fighter, so I stand by my point that calling it an "AWACS" as we use the term today is a bit of a stretch.  Radar equipped night fighter seems appropriate.

Always found the many variations of the At-234 fascinating and really enjoyed seeing the sole survivor at the NASM in Dulles.  An aircraft truly ahead of it's time.

Next thing is, does it make sense for a CV to carry mixed fighter complement? Kikka and A7M2 fighters on her?

Or how about the narrative where navalised Kikka were put on her for validation of operational use in actual combat conditions?

Great start there, always nice to see more 1/700 carriers on here!  I think a mixed complement is just fine as early jets often operated alongside piston types.

Pit-Road does have Kikka and A7M2...

Made the radar dish 3.5m diameter

I wonder if your Judy's or other propeller planes would be better suited for the airborne early warning role, similar to the Avengers and SkyRaiders used by the USA and UK? You could put he radar dish in the belly, and it has enough seats for your radar operators. Speed is not a major concern in AEW.  Your Ar-234 has no room for a radar operator, and would not have the endurance desired for AEW.  This would free up your Naval Ar-234 to do what it was best at- high speed recon or bombing.

Please not a criticism at all- just thinking out loud as a fellow WHIF carrier builder...

I did see a schematic where they added a 3rd man to the crew at the back where the camera was supposed to be in the recon version.

Plus I do believe that with continued development, I'm sure something of such will be possible.

I'm actually mixing whiff with Strike Witches universe
