Interesting little leading edge devices on the inner portion of the wings. Not seen those before anywhere.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Looks like part of the undercarriage system perhaps a means of preventing buffeting from airflow over the undercart when extended.
