Wow.  That summary on page 4 after the title is a doozy.  I read it out to Mrs z (who is used to government documents) and even she couldn't tell me what it was about.

If you understand the document, some bureaucrat risks losing their pension. It's designed to confuse, and in parts it's nonsense......"it's English, Jim, but not as we know it....."
"If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you....."
It  means that you read  the instruction sheet

The whole document just BOGGLES the mind! I'm amazed they actually got as far as building an actual helicopter after that load of cobblers.

The last paragraph of the conclusions says it all....

'Sensitivity to established personalities rather than established procedures produces the best results.'

....translates to 'The Generals have the last word' I think.  :o

I gather you've not read similar documents produced within a large corporation?
This is a model of clarity in comparison.  ;D  :banghead:

Hmm - US Army Pumas and French Air Force A-7s - there's a whiff to conjure with...
"Things need not have happened to be true. Tales and dreams are the shadow-truths that will endure when mere facts are dust and ashes, and forgot."

Definitely a whiff as there was no way in hell in the period that the US Army would have ended up with Pumas,
as their Huey replacement.
;D

Well, I did work for British Rail but fortunately that coincided with the Campaign for Plain English.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

You may well have been able to read their English but the problem was it was largely (the timetables in particular) a work of fiction.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

When I was at BR there was a continuous rumour going that they'd opened a special school at Crewe for station announcers.

But I never worked out if it was to make the announcements understandable or totally NON-understandable.  ;D ;)

Some good choices there. Myself and Thorvic have already covered the Royal Navy. Geoff did a Pinger and I did a Junglie.

Theres also possible war-pac options- useing Romainian built Pumas. Hmmm east German border gaurd Pumas shadowing the BGS Pumas on the internal border....................................
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

How about alternative naval ones with different AShMs?

RN/Indian Navy with Sea Eagles (definitely need the boosters)

Norwegian/Danish/Aus/NZ with Penguin Mk.2 Mod.7

RN/Marineflieger with Sea Skuas

Swedish Navy with RBS.15s  (can you get the missiles?)

French Navy with AS.15TTs (can you get the missiles?)
