I have the 1/32 Cavalier Mustang Turbo Prop conversion kit on order. Looking to do something cool, yet believable with it.

USAF SEA scheme, Vietnam.

(Yes it's been done a million times before, but I still like the scheme and 'every home/collection should have one'...  )

South American COIN in spots of Green and Brown over bare metal topsides, bare metal or Grey undersides.
Like a late-WW2 Japanese scheme, but with added Brown.

South African COIN in blotches of Brown over Tan, Grey underside.
A sort-of Giraffe-type scheme.

South and Middle-American post-war Mustangs are a great inspiration, too, e. g. from Costa Rica or El Salvador.

A weird alternative could be an Egypt One scheme (from the F-16) in three shades of grey - very simple, but should look cool on a vintage bird like the Mustang or its derivative?
