Closest to a problem i've had was a seller in WA who I "won" a 1/24 scale diecast car off of for the opening price when no one else bid.
The opening price was 99 cents.
Before I paid him he got cold feet and started making up all sorts of excuses why he couldn't sell it to me.
I strung him along for as long as I could but as I was just going to pull the wheels off it and chuck the rest I let him off in the end with just a lecture about why you should start bidding at the lowest price you will accept for the item.
Judging by his messages he was a kid but I think a parent was pushing him not to let me have it as he got very panicky towards the end when I started threatening him with getting him banned.

Just received a note from EvilBay, refunding my money paid to this Shyster.  Hopefully you will all also.

Had you received notification that something had been posted Brian?

Yes, I had.   Back, just after I'd first ordered the item...

I think EvilBay has written this off as a bad case of shysterism.   :banghead:

So you put in a claim despite the fact that the window for the item arriving had yet to expire?  And they paid out?

I'm just checking pedantically because I don't want to claim only to have them say "no, you must wait to see what, if anything arrives".

Exactly why I am waiting until the end of the arrival window myself.

I started the complaining process on Tuesday and Evil-Bay today informed me they have refunded my money (although I have yet to go and look to see if that is true).

Decided to contact eBay about this as I am inside the delivery window. The money was refunded within minutes. I have my eye on a little something but will wait untill next week to order it though.

Did anybody receive their kit? Or anything at all?

Contacted eBay and they decided to nix my request of a refund, citing the shipping number as a proof of an actual shipment.  :banghead: Will call them tomorrow, but wanted to hear from you guys first.
Cheers,

Suggest THEY track the shipping number and see how far it got. Five will get you ten the shipping number is bogus.

When I told them I had received nothing Evil-Bay made me contact the seller to request a refund or insist on being sent my model.  I demanded they sent me what I had paid for and shortly after Evil-Bay told me the seller had agreed I should be refunded.

It strikes me that although we are all in the same situation Evil-Bay has responded to us in a variety of different ways.  This does not give me confidence in the robustness of their processes.

Perhaps that may have to do with which eBay company each of us is dealing with. I buy through eBay.co.uk where I suspect you buy through eBay.Au each a different company even though they are to most intents and purposes the same. It could also be due to laws within each country being different and eave version of eBay having to deal accordingly, but that part is just a pure guess.

Hadn't thought about it that way.
So which of the many E-Bays is best for getting a refund from I wonder?
