The back story for this is going to be MOST interesting, I look forward to it.

Now I must pull you up on your tag line.
Scotty does not disnae say I can't change the laws of physics, he says I can'nae change the laws of physics. He is speaking in the Scots dialect.
He is a Scot the name and accent are a bit of a give away.

Come to Scotland and say can't and you are likely to be hung up by yer ballop!  :wacko:

The undercarriage of the span section needed navigational lights and contact points.

This is modelling to the max! It's got to be huge. Hats off for the electrics involved. At modellingshow this genre of modelling is frequently shown and I always take a look as is awesome to see the hours work involved and what is does (your bridge opening and closing including the corresponding signallights). I'll follow this one, Love to see the progress of your project...

The Ify Bridge diorama has two moving parts, the bridge lift-span, and a boat traversing under it.



I sweat soldered washers to make narrow pulley wheels.



Pulley wheel brackets





Attached to bridge towers.





Tower top gangway.
