A RN Scooter is quite logical in many ways.

Oh I agree... http://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php/topic,40220.0.html

IIRC, there was a proposal to equip HMS Hermes with an all-Skyhawk group after it became apparent that she couldn't carry a useful number of Buccaneers and Phantoms.

Welcome aboard Stuart both to the forum and the world of Whif

In answer to your question, yes the recent re-boxing of the Airfix Buccaneer does have a Gulf Weapons load and South African Weapons in addition to the original Martel/Sea Eagle options so that would give you the pave spike, the 1000lb LGB and Sidewinder.

Have to agree. I don't do that many jets but I do have the Airfix A-4 in the stash to become either F.A.A. or perhaps Aeronvale.

As for weapons ? I struggle to get decent British WWII bombs, particularly the earlier War period and think all of you who build modern types are totally spoiled in comparison  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thanks for the steer Gents - I have both the Tornado and the Eurotiffy in the stash as it happens

Did Airfix stick any Gulf war era weapons in their Buccaneer re-box a few years back?

Cheers

Stuart

I think they did and did the same with their Jaguar kit if I remember correctly which is doubtful in this case.

They did to make it the Jaguar GR3 and the Tornado the GR4 but those were from the mid nougties, the Buccaneer was done a bit later and a bit better in the Hornby era
