The idea for this thread came to me while reading about people forgetting what they had in their stash and my recent loss of a made up set of recent Airfix 1/72 Spitfire Mk IX wings 

They are here somewhere as I put the upper parts of the wings onto the lower part since I gave parts away to others from here, but where

I recently missed a Hawker Harrier fuselage, earmarked and already set apart for my current build. Anyway, after 3 weeks busy with other things, I could not find it anymore - but it eventually turned up again, forgotten in a paint-strip bath (oven cleaner foam, sat there all the time, together with other bits and pieces). Phew...

And there are random victims to the carpet monster - but these are not black out collateral damages or losses.

I've lost a few propeller/spinner and wheel/undercarriage assemblies in the past. Most have shown up, some months latter, but some are still AWOL

I've went through all of my projects threads on here and made a list of what was not yet finished. Twice. And lost it both times.

The other day my trusty modelling knife (aka the one I keep using but really should replace the blade ...or even the whole thing) disappeared as I was using it

Too big for the carpet monster to consume, although several minutes of 'kneel, crawl and search' were needed to confirm that

I presume I got up to make a cup of tea and absently-mindedly put the knife down on the way to the kitchen or got distracted from my tea-making mission and put it down elsewhere

Search area has now been expanded to include the kitchen ..... hallway .....living room .....bedroom ....bathroom

The authorities remain hopeful

Lost a Revell 1/72 MiG-21F-13. I'm sure I've got seven of the things, but there are only six on the shelf.

Assembled resin engine and PE engine/front wing mount for a Brengun 1/144 Mignet HM.14 Pou du ciel. I've never been truly depressed about losing a part to the Carpet Monster until this happened. I honestly went into a funk for a day or so. The whole model's so small I don't know if they'd do a spare parts request. I could scratch it, but every time I get it out of the box I get depressed again:

Nick the girlfriends tights, stick it on the end of a hoover and go-a-carpet-monster-huntin'!  Alternatively, assuming you've got a bagless vacuum cleaner, empty the cylinder and give it a clean out, you should see the part rattle around when you pick it up.  The first method might work better since it's PE and might get bent a bit, you explain what you're doing with her tights later....

Two whole 1/144 die-cast aircraft have gone walkabout, a Lancaster and a Ju 290, not seen them since late 2014...

I'm trying to work out how long the gestation period of their offspring might be and what it would look like ?

She gave me a pair as soon as I asked that day, no questions asked, but it didn't help - no sign of it. Same with the dustbuster and sorting out the sucked-up-ness on a newspaper.

It's possible. But I'm certain it went down between my legs. I'm out in the garage, my chair's on a bit of carpet then it's all bare concrete. I inspected every dustbunny, did the aforementioned vac trick, swept...nothing.
