If anything the Archer would be a much better system for a ship mounted artillery weapons system.
That is fully automatic.

As it is, the Archer system is built for shoot and scoot. I wonder how it copes with being an almost stationary target. Also, it only traverses +/-85 degrees.

I suppose the gun itself can be mounted on a different weapon station.

Yep it's designed for shoot and scoot fire missions but any SPG can technically do that ..it's just a time of round on target thing ..same with a MBT getting the kill with the first shot.
In a stationary inplacement at a base a Archer would be fine and function like a normal SPG.
On a permanent mount on a ship a new mount could easily be designed to give it as much movement as they'd want it to have and the only reason the Archer only has that amount of movement is because it's mounted the way it is on the ADT chassis...also the auto loader can make things annoying.
The Bandkanon had the same problem.
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .

Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Nice.
Is it 2-engined or 4?
If 2, they must need a lot of air!

I'm guessing four engines. Two above the wing and one on each side below the wing. Very clever!

And those engine intakes and exhausts must have been one VERY clever bit of modelling to make!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

The ones on the top look like upside down F-15 or Su-27 intakes, no idea about the side ones though. Lovely work regardless.

It's a beautiful piece of model building without doubt...love the lines of it

Or F-14.
The lowers are probably something that's been cut back to make the scalloped end.

But still a nice bit of work.
