How much of all this internal rigging is visible when its all buttoned up?

Yes, but Zac will know it's there  ;D ;)

Great work mate

Oh, I know that but I was wondering how far his obsessiveness goes... ;D

Oops! I didn't see the second page of comments!

zenrat: About all you see here - the cockpit opening is a decent size. The rudder and elevator cables should ideally end about an inch aft of the seat but there's no apparent place to put them unless I take them right to the end. As far as fuselage rigging is concerned I'm not doing anything beyond the three bays either side and on the floor.

As far as the obsessiveness goes - this baby's gonna be OOB! There's not much in the real deal that's not in the kit.

The cockpit is complete! The only parts not in the box are the various rigging threads - everything else came in the kit.

Wow, you can almost SMELL that!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Thanks guys! The real secret is using WNW's wood painting tips. Get yourself some oils, follow the instructions and you're away laughing. The fit's so good it does kinda build itself. I've had a delay due to not painting some stringers on the fuselage sides but I'm hopeful I can close it up this weekend.

A few reviews I've read say the fit is "almost to good". The merest sign of paint on a joint and you have a minor problem. have you encountered this yet ?

BTW. After watching your progress with this one I'm going to treat myself to their Fokker D.VII

Feel free to grab one for me too as my birthday's coming up  That is a gorgeous kit too, and much less demanding when it comes to rigging. But building the forward fuse looks to be very parts-intensive.

The fuselage halves seem to go around the cockpit okay, but if I need to scrape some paint away it won't be a biggie. I'm fully expecting it though and was careful to scrape the areas on the fuselage halves where the formers slot in.
