Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Well, this GB will be a good motivator for an ancient Star Wars project that has been lurking in pieces and with one or two resurrection attempts through the years. It's actually the use of leftover parts, combined with a NIB kit. Needs some donor parts, though, but this the THE occasion to finally get rid of the kit(s)!

I'm leaning towards doing my 'realistic' Angel Interceptor model, but I have kits for LOADS of sci-fi projects.

The realistic Angel Interceptor addresses the problem that the original is just too damn small for it's claimed capability, by being based on an RF-101C Voodoo airframe, fitted with English Electric P-10-style ramjet wings.

It's a subject that's completely out of my comfort zone but I may look to do something in a "classic" 30's Sci Fi style ?

Be a good excuse to dig my Lensman and Skylark books out for another read anyway  ;D

I've also found a Macross VF-25 in 1:100 in the stash, once bought because it was cheap but without a real plan. Good basis for a quick OOB build with an individual scheme. The thing cries Su-27 all the time...

I have a vague plan to do evil diesel punky things to a Bandai 1/72 Y Wing.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Go looking for Lensman and Skylark magazine covers on Google too: lots of period inspiration...

There are a couple of other 'rational Gerry Anderson' things I could do, come to think of it. The 'rational' UFO Moonbase interceptor and a 'rational' Space 1999 Eagle are two that spring to mind....

No, that would be steam punky.  I'm thinking cranked wings, canards, props, open cockpit, possibly spats and radial engines...

I'd like to see a more science based GB ... or, rather, tech based ... with less (or none) of the fantasy elements that are flowing into the genre these days.

Alternate time lines are tricky little beasts, especially if you're looking for an element of realism - tread carefully! ;)

Another point:

I'm not a moderator but I'd like to encourage people to really think outside the box for their builds.

This is a Hasegawa kit from an original Kow Yokoyama design, for example, created from a car, a P-38 Lightning, a Yakult bottle, a few table-tennis/ping-pong balls & a whole bunch of other odds & ends.

Whiffing is a creative art form but Science Fiction is where you can let your creativity loose to run wild & free! Let it!

I would love to enter my old Airfix Starcruiser 1, but I'm so busy with other stuff at the moment....

This is a perfect opportunity for me to use up all those star trek extra nacelles and such from their 1\1000 scale kits...
