That's 'cos the Nav sits a tad behind and a tad lower than the pilot in 2 seater Venoms.

Or he should do anyway, but it's a vintage FROG kit so anything goes.

Yes that makes sense !

Yes the navigator's seat fits over the 'tab' extending forward from the floor (on the right as you look forward), the pilot seat sit's on the two rails (on the left)
