FW -190 Portuguese AF - 1/72

Hi! 

Occasionally,quite rare actually,I build models.Certainly is much easier,from my point of view,to draw profiles but from time to time a different approach is required.
I start working on this model two years ago  an :blink:d just now is almost ready.
It's an easy assembly kit from Hobby Boss,brush painted with Revell and Agama acrylics,Carpena decals,Vallejo washes and Gunze varnish.The varnish was sprayed with my new airbrush and somehow got into the canopy compromising the clear part in a few areas on the inside.There is no question to detach the canopy,Is very well glued and I don't want to risk even bigger damage,

I don't have a story,but we can imagine that spanish operated this airplane type and one or two forced landed over the border in Portugal.

Simple, but neat. I also thought about Fw 190s in post-WWII service, e. g. in Spain (alongside the Buchons)?

Interesting build. Portugal is quite a good place for WWII aircraft from both sides because of its neutrality.

Oh yeah!! That's sweet!!  It's something i've thought about a while ago when i was building Airfix's FW-190 but it was put in my Shelves of Doom because i built it gear up...
In my alternative scenario, where we had more German material in WWII, Portugal stopped being neutral when the Allies put Operation Alacrity into motion and invaded the Azores and Madeira Archipelagos in 1941, without any warning. Salazar asked Churchill and Roosevelt to stand down and was ignored, so the Windsor treaty was abolished and Salazar sided with Germany and the Axis powers, including Spain, which was already lined up with the Axis because of the help Germany had given Franco during the civil war.

Yes,I wish I could build more...unfortunately I get stuck when I encounter problems that take a lot of time to fix,sometimes I lose my patience or lost interest.

Well,that's a good story...which gives me an idea for one or two profiles with IAR-80 in FAP service...to establish a historical connection between WW II period and modern days when Portugal sold F-16's to Romania.

That's also a very good idea, makes perfect sense to me.
And i agree with Librarian, you should build more models, no joke, that 190 is looking very good, and i'm not saying that cause i'm Portuguese, i'm saying it cause it's true.

It could have been better but I'm satisfied that I managed to finish it after two years and one year after the last model...at this rate I need more than one hundred years to clear my stash.
