That looks really good, and SO Chinook like.

Was it a case of 'great minds think alike' or was there some Boeing-Vertol influence there?

Well I suspect the team from ex-Bristol's based at Weston Super Mare may have been behind it, and Westlands did get the licence for the Boeing Vertol V-107 Sea Knight, so I suspect both were used to evolve a Chinook style design

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

She looks great Geoff.  I've never quite been able to picture the WG.11 from the drawings, good to see her in the flesh.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Cheers Guys, I must really try and finish it off this week with its aerials, but will need to clear the bench first.

I must admit I quite like it, I did get into the doldrums with moving workshop and then the build hit a stop when trying to work out how to do the engines, but once I worked that out the rest sort of clicked into place.

I have already sourced another pair of kits, this time Fujimi as the different kit design may lend itself better to the conversion. This time I think it will be the Assault version with the ramp down. Alternately I could do the Heliliner which would look rather different with the wings and stretched cabin.

However I have my other builds to finish over the next 15 days  :o, and after that I should really do a real RN Whirlwind and Merlin to give the comparison's to the projects. Come next Telford we may hopefully finally get a Wasp kit to keep the RN Helicopter theme going. (I Spent too many years in my youth under the flight path on the Chesil Beach for RNAS Portland so grew up to daily flights from the Wasp and Wessex, then Lynx and the occasional Sea King , so have always loved building RN Helicopters ).

That must have been a fascinating place to live.

Ironically RNAS Portland was entitled HMS Osprey, and the FAA don't fly Ospreys...................yet.  ;D

(I mean the Ospreys with tilting rotor things on their wing tips, not the ones with biplane wings and Kestrel engines naturally)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Excellent build!  Want to start butchering some CH-46/47!
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

All your hard work was worthwhile - a great-looking result.
