The first enlarged tail tested on the B-32 was a B-29 tail, this was followed by a Consolidated
redesign that added even more height. The first two production aircraft used a B-29 tail until
the taller Consolidated design was available.

The Xotic one is multi-media, all the big bits are injection with some white metal detail parts and a few vacuformed bits.

Given the thickness of resin you normally get on Anigrand kits it probably weighs a tonne and might need the Xotic white metal undercart  ;D

Seems we could use an injection molded kit for this aircraft.  Scalemates lists the resin anigrand versions and several vacuform kits.

Someone already did it, but in 1/48 scale ;D

Bill of materials includes two 1/48 Superforts, two 1/48 Libs, one 1/72 B-36 and a whole lot of scratchbuilding. Bashing it in 1/72 runs into the problem of not having a 1/108 B-36 available for the tail end (unless one makes do with B-29 tail, or even Privateer tail).

What scale was the 'fit the box' Revell B-36 from the mid 50s? That may be around the right size.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Scalemates claims it's 1/184, so even Hobbycraft's 1/144 offering would be closer in scale, yet too small for the purpose (if going the quoted article's route). But claiming it's a B-32B, one could probably get away with B-29 rear fuselage and either scratchbuilt or Privateer tail ;D
