Over the past couple of years I've made a range of 1/350 scale starships based on designs from the Traveller roleplaying game - but totally forgot to post them on here - so here goes...

First up is the Type S scout/courier

Glamour shots...

FedEx delivery :)

Actual size - this one's an ambulance ship

A few different colour schemes - only one of these is painted, the others are all one-piece homemade decals

Next up - Type A Free Trader...
Murphy's 1st Law - An object at rest will be in the wrong place
Murphy's 2nd Law - An object in motion will be going in the wrong direction
Murphy's 3rd Law - For every action, there is an equal and opposite malfunction

MartG

Type A Free Trader. Master sanded from balsafoam then cast in resin

Mobile hospital version

Medical flotilla ( Type A, Type S, and a pair of 20DT shuttles )

Next - 20 tonne Gig/shuttle

Murphy's 1st Law - An object at rest will be in the wrong place
Murphy's 2nd Law - An object in motion will be going in the wrong direction
Murphy's 3rd Law - For every action, there is an equal and opposite malfunction

MartG

20 tonne shuttle/gig

Balsafoam and plastic master under construction

The fleet :)

Royal Mail shuttle delivering to Pencaster Base

Next - Type H

Murphy's 1st Law - An object at rest will be in the wrong place
Murphy's 2nd Law - An object in motion will be going in the wrong direction
Murphy's 3rd Law - For every action, there is an equal and opposite malfunction

MartG

Type H Bounty Hunter - based on an old article in White Dwarf magazine and a plan by Ian Stead

In hot pursuit

SAR Squadron

Ian Stead's plan which the model is based on

A long way from home !

Next - Type E

Murphy's 1st Law - An object at rest will be in the wrong place
Murphy's 2nd Law - An object in motion will be going in the wrong direction
Murphy's 3rd Law - For every action, there is an equal and opposite malfunction

Weaver

Those are fantastic - well done!
"Things need not have happened to be true. Tales and dreams are the shadow-truths that will endure when mere facts are dust and ashes, and forgot."
 - Sandman: A Midsummer Night's Dream, by Neil Gaiman

"I dunno, I'm making this up as I go."
 - Indiana Jones

MartG

Type E Explorer class scout - another based on a White Dwarf article and a render by Ian Stead

I haven't the faintest idea what you're on about, but the models look really well done.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Wow.  Those are great.

What is Balsa Foam?  It sounds like something a celebrity chef would try and foist off on you as an overpriced and undersized entree.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Balsafoam is a lightweight foam which is very easily sanded

MartG   thank you those are brilliant
the Type H ive got the WD for and looks even better in the flesh !   Ive not seen the Type E before but it looks right.
Are they solid cast resin?
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.
wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront

Lovely pieces, and the pics are nice, too. I remember the Traveller RPG, many years ago - and the technological "state of the art", with the ships' onboard computer occupying several tons and lots of space. A today's smartphone would probably more capable than anything once imagined...

Are they solid cast resin?

Yes, solid resin.

When my current project is complete ( 1/48 Saturn V ) I plan on expanding the range

Murphy's 2nd Law - An object in motion will be going in the wrong direction

So there's no actual wood involved?  OK, thanks.
