Guys

Started this one last year in the Old Kit Group Build http://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php/topic,42838.0.html but never got around to finishing it. I've forgotten if I ever posted this thread by itself ...  :-[ ... so this one I'll bookmark and keep up to date (I hope).

Story up until January this year - when I went out of action-  in pictures as follows:

*** PHOTOBUCKET KILLED MY PHOTOS ***

At which point I was out of action until a fortnight or so ago.

So, in that space I have managed to start the old jet down the PSR road as follows:

Progress will now (still) be slow but hopefully I wont lose track of her.

That looks promising. I am just not sold on the belly intake...? Engine life would be rather short, I guess?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hi Dizzy.
Yeah, its a bit small but there are auxiliary intakes just forward of the air-brakes, they just don't show up in this photo.

Ah yes, I remember this.  I was impressed by the cleanness of your cutting.
Looking very good.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

You've no intake to the upper engine...

Ducting from the underbelly intake is bifurcated and there are 2 auxiliary intakes (a la F-5E Tiger II) ahead of the airbrakes for slow speeds (ie takeoff, landing, &ct).  Interestingly the area of the F-16 modified intake under the belly is actually marginally more than that of the annual nose intake on the F6 Lightning in high speed flight, so I've WIFFEd away the difference.

Good point though Wooksta!

Hello all.

OK, after more PSR she is now ready for her first colour coat!

Hopefully I've now got a head of steam up for this one.

What did you use for the radome? I'm also looking at doing a Lightning without a nose intake, but different wings :)

Great looking design and very effectively made. Really impressed with how neatly you've added the nose!
