I voted 3 with 2 being a fairly close 2nd, 1 looks a bit bland to me.

Of course, if you've seen my Grebe, you'll see where my brain is colour-wise right now.

I would have thought it would have needed a break and the chance to calm down ?  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I voted 2 as you'll need to keep fuel cool. 3 is too garish, and what's the use of white undersides? Unless you're planning to do much inverted flight in tropical climate...
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Tradition mainly.  ;D

Many flying boats had white hulls, the USN even had it as part of its standard scheme when the Seamaster first got going.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I seem to recall that white was (is?) a more durable paint because coloured paints absorb more energy from sunlight which breaks them down faster (& causes them to transfer heat to the fuel tanks, obviously) & that the light doesn't have to be direct (although that accelerates the process).

There may be other (chemical?) reasons, too, but I can't recall any if there were.
