For the Sci Fi GB I am building a racing car.
It is a Stormzender Spiegel HP-022 from the anime Future GPX Cyber Formula.
I haven't seen any of the anime but found the Aoshima kits of the cars on HLJ and fell in love with them.
I have one built (i'd post a pic but it's been photobucketed) and three in the stash.
This one is different from the others in that it has four wheels rather than six.

I'll be building it OOB in circuit mode

That looks promising. I've never seen this design, gotta look that one up at HLJ. Interesting, could be a good basis for an SF kitbashing.

Tophe

Wow! It looks like a "twin-boom car"... ;D

The six wheelers have aircraft style canopies but the one appears to have the driver completely enclosed.  I haven't studied the instructions or debagged the sprues yet but hopefully it has a detailed cockpit so I can build it with the lid up.

Not started yet (other then open the bags) but I did upload some pics of my earlier Cyber Formula build.

I finished it in NMF instead of the OOB race scheme.  Can't remember why except that it made it look more "science fictiony".

Thanks Womby.

Hopefully i'll finish an aircraft today which means I will have space to start on the Stormzender.

Interesting build. From the side it looks very Thunderbird'esque but from the rear ? Not as much so.

F.1 in 2030 ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Not having managed to get to see the anime I can't confirm nor deny that Chris.
It seems however that like most advanced technology in anime it can only be operated by young boys with floppy hair or girls with long legs, short skirts and big eyes.

I started the Stormzender today.  The wheels are interesting.  They have clear centres which is I think meant to represent some form of electro-magnetic floating hub arrangement.
There is a cockpit with a hatch but it looks like it cold do with a bit of additional detailing in there.  I'll have to dig out some PE seatbelt and scratch up some view screens and banks of switches.

Yes a genre I don't understand at all

Congratulations! My own car is less sexy... :-\ ;D

I too fell in love with an Asurada AKF-0 at a show, knowing absolutely nowt about the anime.  I declined to pick it up in end, wished I had.

This will be cool.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

So far i've put together the wheels and the front wheel housings/fenders/mudguards.
And since then i've been experimenting how to paint it.  I primed the assembled 'guards with white primer and the pink plastic came though.  As I want a pink/white paintjob this is no good so today I put a coat of Pledge One-Go (AKA Future) over the primer and tomorrow i'll hit it with another coat of white to see if that seals the colour in like its supposed to.

Hmmm, no updates for a while.
the Future did the trick although the white still looks very slightly pink.  Although that might be because it's next to gloss pink enamel.

I've been slowly putting the cockpit together.  It's a bit bare so I need to add some detail.

Picked up the rather complicated rear bodywork to sand it today.
Dropped it and then had to reattach a wheel arch.
