Hmmm yes, it does have a modicum of "cute" about it.

Kit the length of the wings is limited by the need to fit through a Stargate*.  The piece of white styrene rod at the root of what used to be Macchi MC 202/205 stabilisers represents hinges - they would fold upwards at that point.

Today I did more detail painting on the cockpits, a touch of filler around the wing roots, worked out where to put the guns and drilled holes for the barrels.  I also dug out the parts I will be using for the undercarriage.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Ah, I hadn't considered that.

Visions of a Stargate with massive extension slots on each side to allow longer winged 'devices' to travel elsewhere and elsewhen come to mind.  ;D ;D

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Ah, the U2 stargate.   ;D

I meant to add a footnote along the lines of "I haven't looked up the diameter of a Stargate but in my universe they are just a bit wider than an Avrocar."

Neat work on what I assume are the wheel bays
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Click on the pic guys and it should get bigger.

Originally the Avrocar rested on 3 non-retractable pairs of small wheels.
Stargate Command insisted there were replace with something more suitable for use on alien planets without hard standing (nothing whatsoever to do with me not wanting to clean up, paint and attach six tiny wheels).
This has been done and it is sitting on the new arrangements in the picture above.  You just can't see what i've done.
Some minor cleaning up today, primed the bottom half and painted the induction fan silver.
I now need to chose a colour scheme for it.
Currently in the lead is something baed on this.

That's coming along well, mate.

Agree the 'Peanut' scheme is cool and would work well for it.
You could have a 'Handwavium'-Effect paintjob, something the SGC got along with all the other Asgard Tech when they ascended...
some kind of self-adjusting finish that adapts itself to the prevailing terrain/landscape.

Or am I *still* talking through a hole in my head?  ;D

zenrat

Hmmm yes, programmable camo paint based on genetically engineered cuttlefish crossed with Asgard nanotech.
Good idea Rick.  Thanks.

It's all together now so paint today.  Some USAF Brown (Vallejo's name for it) as a base for the above scheme.

That's so Vorlon.  ;)

I'm not up on B5.  I've seen bits and pieces but Mrs z is a Trekkie and so that took precedence.
I have all of it on my computer.  Must watch it from the beginning.

Two colours now on this.  I added some Middle Stone.
There will be no progress this weekend as I have pulled Uncle Duty.
