That's coming along really well.

I also think you should have a 'This Way Up' marking somewhere, but in my mind I see it on the underside...  ;D

When looking at this build, there's two things I can't shake.

The first is the idea that it makes "that googly-eyes rattle" every time you pick it up.   :o

The second is that the "wheels" look somehow amputated to me.  Now it might just be because the driver's also an amputee... but I keep wanting you to stick some other bit on the end of the googly eye. I don't know why exactly.
Thanks!

Nah, you just like the idea of poking things in eyes...

I love the rail-gun styled weapons - very menacing and I may just have to borrow the designs one day  ;)
Interesting wheel design. I'll never look at googly eyes in the same way again

Anti-grav/repulsor units (no, I haven't the faintest idea how they might work), not wheels, ;)

... And he's the commander, not the driver - but I'm sure he won't get too upset.

Never had a problem with my ideas being stolen for appropriate purposes - like building models that upset the rivet counters & JMN's.

BTW: Progress is progressing slowly. I now have to toddle off to my workspace & see if I can remember how to solder after a 37 year hiatus. :o

Basic principle is easy enough. Hot bit gets put to cold bit et voila ! Never, ever got the hang of it at school but then we did use the big old fashioned copper soldering irons. You could have used them as a club ! Mind you my brazing and electric arc welding was quite "interesting" as well ! Just glad "O" Level Metalwork was 75% theory  ;D

I found my own stash of googly eyes today.  They are not as big or impressive as yours but I had been looking for them for a while along with the tube of metal polish that was in the same box.

After struggling with serious mojo issues on this build (not that there wasn't any, it just came & went at random :banghead:) I've just put the last primer coat down.

Next will be an undercoat followed by the final paint scheme.

She doesn't look too bad but I've decided it should have been a "less-is-more" build, with more of the M-1117 undersides left intact & tubes & cables running underneath to the anti-grav units in the actual wheel arches, maybe with additional armour over (under?) the plumbing for added protection. The idea being that it's a semi-field mod, shoe-horning reverse engineered alien technology onto an existing vehicle.

For my own peace of mind, I'm going with this as the v.02 mod, with the shoe-horning cleaned up a bit.

Hopefully pic's inside the week.

Ciao!

Are you sure they weren't looking for YOU?
Thanks!

No.  But the horde of blinded soft toys stumbling zombie like around the shed were...

Sorry, that is a horrible mental image.  Please rest assured that my bag of googly eyes came from a craft store unlike Old Wombat's which were torn out of the faces of defenceless teddy bears (shameless pre-vote mud slinging attempt).

I would like to state that at no time did I "tear" anything out of the faces of anything. The teddy bears were suitably anaesthetised & their eyes were surgically removed in a sterile environment, thank you very much!

OK, very quick update before I go to work.

Still a WiP but paint is on & the end is in sight.

With no help from my beautiful assistant, Ozara:

I've advanced to here:

With a bit of luck I may be finished on the weekend ... "with luck"? Who am I kidding?

Nice, but typical Kitty  ;D I'll take that sentence as another extension request  ;) which I'll be sorting out this weekend.
