What to do with the Blue Diamonds decals from the Matchbox Hunter that I recently scored? Get your votes in and I'll go with the wishes of the majority. No time limit, and votes can be changed, but once I see a runaway winner the choice will be made.

Yes, this may seem like sacrilege to some, the Hunter is clearly the best looking aircraft of all by a wide margin. But in the whiff world that counts for little, and duty calls.

By the way, can anyone advise on the best paint for the scheme?

Voted Lightning, because I imagined a diamond formation in a vertical climb. They'd need lots of room for any changes of direction though...

But have they got the range to perform a full display without refuelling?......... or is that part of the display?   I voted Javelin purely out of natural cussedness!

I voted Gnat , I'm actually building a Blue Diamonds Swift at the moment myself.

Lightning? That would be short displays. It can climb and go fast. But what else?

Submitted my voted and got the 3 way tie back.   ;D ;D ;D

Well, I have not voted on the grounds that the given selection does not provide what I would regard as a suitable mount for the team.
For the actual time frame for the Blue Diamonds I would suggest the Canadair Sabre.

Remember the Firebirds?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Well, my selection has fallen way behind the pack. :(

That was on my mind, but for some reason I decided that just British aircraft would be in the running.

Voted Swift, but where was thePhantom option?

Time frame I was thinking of would be too early. The Blue Diamonds only lasted until 1962 in the real world.

I put a vote in for the Swift.

After reading Nigel Walpole's "Swift Justice" book, I have to say the Swift sounds like a real hot rod down low and could probably put on awesome low altitude displays.
