Thanks, that's very detailed.

Talk about jumping in at the deep end!  :o

Cracking work Grommet.

Whichever deity(s) you prayed to it(they) is(are) obviously the correct one(s).

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

BTW, that car looks like a Fiat 600, not a 500.  <_<

Well, I was looking for a 1/72 Fiat 500... and the eBay lady who sold it to me had it listed as a 1/72 Fiat 500...   So let's just say everybody was happy with that arrangement. :-X

My quick "don't ask questions you don't want answers for" cursory glance at a picture of a 600 revealed no discernable differnce in appearance. So I'm curious what makes you say that... but just in case I've prepared a safety net.  This build can quickly be renamed the "What If Lupin III drove a Fiat 500 that looked a smidge like a Fiat 600 in the Castle of Cagliostro" build.
Thanks!

Fiat 500

Fiat 600

They're different cars, the 500 having a two cylinder engine and the 600 a four cylinder engine, quite apart from different bodies.

Thanks for the comparison pics...

I'm not really concerned about the engine. I'm using the one from the Kubblewagon in my mini-vehicles set from Academy.  It looks pretty darn close and it's all I've got to work with.

As for the body shape... I think if I add a bit of putty between the wheel wells and across the door to build up that little bumpy ridge it should look closer.  I can also round out the wheel well shapes and the corner of the rear passenger window, which should help the transformation.  Also, since the engine hatch at the back will be open, I can get away with a bit of putty to add a ridge and fill in some of that grating.  As long as it's in the open position and not straight inline, I think any discrepancies will be less visible.  Or at least that's what I'll tell myself so I can sleep at night... :)

I know the wheels are a bit too big and sticking out from the body too far, but there was no easy way to modify the chassis to accommodate this, so I'm chalking it up to "the anime effect", but is there anything else I'm blatantly missing?

One nice thing about having a mold... If I screw up the modifications to the body shell... I just wait 30 minutes and try again. ;)  That also helps immensely when trying to open up the various hatches (roof/door/engine).  Instead of needing a surgeon's precision with a scalpel, I just need two shells... one to cut out the holes and the other to cut out the parts.
Thanks!

Thanks, Kit, for having explained the difference.  Saved me some wiki search.  ;D
