For die-hard mecha/anime affecionados, a long awaited model metarializes: WAVE seems to seriously produce an 1:72 IP kit of a 2nd generation Macross Valkyrie, the heavy VF-4 "Lightning III", in fighter mode.
For years, an insanely expensive resin kit had been the only option, and there was literally no decent model of this mecha.

The model had been announed in 2016 (http://www.gundammodelkits.com/wave-modelkit-172-vf-4-lightning-fighter-mode.html), and now - just in time for the upcoming Xmas business (release is Dec. '17) - the kit has become available. And it has potential, beyond the anime universe...

Here some pics of the kit's prototype: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1192718874144819.1073742522.334036913346357&type=3

The kit has become available at HLJ a couple of days ago: https://hlj.com/product/WAVMC-57

Hmm?
I am thinking heavy trans-atmospheric interceptor for S.H.A.D.O. I am hoping other outlets are going to sell this and for a lower price too.

I do like the look of that.
I'd like one in 1/48 to scaleorama back to 1/72 as a bomber.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Erm, this may come over as slightly cynical, but how can you tell it's 1/72 scale when the 'real' thing is a Whiff already?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The pilot is a scale 5ft 2 inch tall as he is Japanese.  :-X
