I've got a 3/4's finished Rota or at least the French equivalent in the collection. Azure kit. Stalled because the undercarriage was so fiddly. Uhmmmmm  ;) But I do want to do my float plane Karas first
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Avro-Cierva C.30A on floats was not proceeded with because the added weight (275 lbs) and drag
lowered the performance below useful levels, max speed was reduced to 96 - 98 mph.

Lookin at the 3-view of the C-130 amphib, it's looks like it would be better to modify the
C-130 fuselage rather than try to stick on the lower hull from something else.

I had a modest attempt at a Superfreighter from Airfix some years ago :

Excellent collection of pics Jon.  Thanks.
Who wants to build this in 1/72?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I was wondering how large a 1/72 version of that would be, and figured it was larger than my house!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Something reminded me of the Bill Barnes 'Silver Lancer' and other fighter(ish) planes with a retractable center float.

Apart from the Blackburn B20 (see post #2 of this thread) did anyone actually build and fly a flying boat with a retractable hull/central float?
