Its been a great weekend  Altou I'm sure my bank manager would beg to differ............................It wont be long before I get the letter reminding me that the idea is that I bank with them, not the other way round

Its been good to see Brad again, don't hang around till your next trip over here big man!
Meeting Ed S and his dear lady wife was a pleasure. He really is Santa out of uniform! And one of the nicest guys you could wish to meet

The displays on both sig stands were very well received, What if? especially seemed to be getting more positive interest and comments than we normally attract, Our new display stands (formerly of IPMS Coventry & warwickshire) worked very well and added much to the over all display layout.

The only sour note has been the disappearance of the S&M Stalwart kit that I'm sure has been accidentally put in some one elses bag.
As Kit posted earlier, if you happen to discover it amounst your new additions. Contact Kit directly or Myself or either of the UK based forum admin team members (Geoff B & Chris E ) and we can arrange for it to be returned to its owner.

Roll on SMW2018.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Well that was a spectacular success: nice to meet Brad, Ed and Alastair in particular, as Martin said. The new display stand was excellent, making a lot more space without being obtrusive in itself.

I used the Kitswap for the first time and sold all but one of the kits I put in (and the last one went to Steel Penguin for a song just so I didn't have to take it home), which meant I had as much money in my wallet on the Sunday afternoon as I had on the Saturday morning: a condition that some members regarded as tantamount to heresy. That was speedily resolved, however....

I took a load of pics, which get posted er, not today.

Kit, I took all my purchases home on Saturday night, unpacked, listed and stowed them all, so I can say with certainty that I definitely havn't got your Stolly. I hope you find it.

For context, there were so many white, blue or Wonderland carrier bags under the stand with an SR.53, an MB.6 and misc other things in each that I nearly walked off with somebody else's bag myself, so I'm sure that's what's happened to the Stolly.

That was a wonderful show

I must say that I was not as awed as I was ten years ago when I was last at SMW. My girlfriend, Susan said she had a good time as well and everyone appeared to like the home made fruit cake that I brought along with me. Well what other kind of cake should I make for the SIG?

It was a pleasure to meet up with everyone, especially with Steel Penguin, Harro, Ed,  Mike and Kit who has supported my builds with his custom printing of decals for my ideas.

More, and better pics coming later today, but I have the MOTHER of all colds right now. Telford and my state of health never seem to suit each other for some reason.  :banghead: :banghead:

Here's the pics, LOTS of them! I loaded them in order as I took them left to right, but ImageShack in its wisdom has decided to shuffle the order about.   :banghead: :banghead:

I'll try and post them on here correctly, but don't hold your breath.

Great to see so many of you, and separating the money from your wallets was an added bonus to! Sorry I didn't have the Supermarine 327 on sale, but Mr McEvoy and an undisclosed Spitaholic did manage to leave the show with plain white boxes, and will no doubt start cutting resin soon. Hopefully the kit will be on sale shortly, and there is another post-war subject already mastered to follow in a couple of months, to coincide with my SR.53 boxing hopefully.

Thanks to all for the great day.   I was able to turn up, hand round the minirolls, show the Conqueror, ( it even looks reasonable in the photos, guys thank you for taking such flattering shots of it!), enjoy some of the fruit cake, and the fruit and cherry cake,  talk some great stuff with all and sundry,  and think up an idea or 2.
I finished the day feeling better than I have in ages.
Glad to read that folks are getting home ok, and it was a pleasure to meet up with all of you.

The Wooksta!

My weekend was rather overshadowed by the difficulties with accomodation but overall it was a highly enjoyable weekend and it was good to put faces to names.

I promise that next year, I'll come armed with some better booze too.

Had a very enjoyable show and had a good chat with Kit whilst waiting for Joe Cherrie to come back to the stand.

Great display.

A great weekend, the travel was not too bad either going or coming back. I would have preferred to have not had to work the morning of the show and set off from work in Salford as it made the Friday somewhat tiring. The fears of the delayed set up proved to be unfounded mostly due to the traders all getting in on their time slots and the only van was the Special Hobby one in the corner next to us, so the Roller shutter was able to be closed sometime after 5pm so we didn't freeze our nuts off in the cold draft.
Good to meet up and catch up with people as many I hadn't seen for a couple of years after missing last year and only doing the Saturday the year before, so nice to be back to a full weekend again. A shame we were scattered across town and in different groups, and that the traditional Chinese Buffet had gone in the Telford town Centre re-development, so we couldn't have out mass banquet, but the food we had in our smaller groups was good as those Mixed grills sure filled in a gap created by missing meals.
Probably spent more than I planned to but got some nice stuff and considering that was effectively my holiday for this year I can quite happily justify the spending and afford it. Didn't get round to doing the restock on tools and materials I planned, but that's something that's not to hard to do on-line or with LMS so no great loss.
Nice to see and discuss Cancelled Projects with some of the visitors although it does sort of emphasise that we should really plan better and include some form of labelling as explanation for next time.
Was good to discuss builds and formulate plans for the coming year with Martin, Harro, Chris and Joe so have an idea of what I can work on for the next 12 months, so much so that instead of running away screaming from the model room or giving it a good clear out, I instead actually started my next builds (and did a bit on one I had to put aside to get other finished for SMW), just a little too cold for Spraying until I swapped heaters out to counter act the window being ajar.

So its on to next year, no more shows till the end of January so plenty of time to get something built, the new Phantom which will require a bit of work is not due till December so that's probably going to be a Xmas build at best.

Nut cake?

Good pics everyone.  Thanks for sharing.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
