Hey folks, been a wee while since the last What If project, so very much in the same vain as the Shinden from earlier this year, going to be starting a Hobbyboss Ta-152 sometime soon:  Late war operational Luftwaffe colours but not necessarily as a German machine, pretty much straight from the box as I understand that the kit builds quite well (we'll find-out together, eh ?). Progress pics as and when, but not for a couple of weeks as I'm finishing-up a couple of NASCAR builds just now.

Stay tuned.

Ian.

Why not show us the NASCAR stuff anyway?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Whiffy NASCAR? Could also be a nice and "different" GB theme...

Seem to recall that a lot of Whiffer's got upset with real world stuff being shown here - and quite rightly too, there's more than enough forums for real world builds. If you want to see my two current 'real' builds, you could wander over to:

In the meantime, I'll keep to just What If's here, don't want to upset anybody.

Interesting. Hungarian ? Or maybe ANR ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hey Chris...

Well I've done German (Dornier 335), ANR (Me 262) and Finnish (Ta183), so Hungarian or maybe Croatian or even White Russian/Cossack could happen.

That said a German one with colourful RVB bands might work too...

Decisions, decisions.

Hmmmm, White Russian ? I've a 1/72 scale transfer sheet for very late war 109's that features a White Russian aircraft. Got me thinking now ; cheers

So sort of a non-update; ordered the kit and it's on its' way from China (yes it is cheaper to buy it off eBay and have it shipped here than to buy it over the counter, assuming I could find someone who sells it ), however before I start hacking at bits of plastic, I'll need to go and practice Luftwaffe mottling as it's been years since I last did a mottle finish and those skills are severely atrophied right now.

Still not decided on a final colour scheme, but late war greens and 'braunviolett' with bright RVB bands are still at the top of the list alongside a Croatian machine !!

Stay with me...

I'd love to see a Finnish one - but maybe something else is in order, as you've done something Finnish recently.

... I like the grey mottle finishes very much...

Funny that you mention Finnish, was looking at my Ta183 just five minutes ago - still got it, still in one piece. But as you say time for something different.

Did the Finns ever use Bf 110s or was it only 109s?

Only 109 G2 and G6, starting 1943.
Then, there were light bombers like Ju 88 and Dornier Do 17

When he moved here Ian and I bonded very quickly over the prices we pay for kits and supplies here, and the occasional lack of stock. It's a nice place to live but thank goodness for the Internet otherwise model building would be hell.

This is a cool project Ian, the idea of a Ta152 in that colour scheme is tantalising! I'm keen to hear how the kit goes together, too, as I have my eye on a 190D-13 and maybe a Bearcat from HB when funds allow...

Thanks PT.  That solves a problem i've been having in finding something to do with an Eduard 110.
