A decision and some progress.

excellent decision, it seems, from the first glimpse :
I love giraffe patterns, and the curves on the wings are auspicious

Oh yes, that's going to look AWESOME when it's finished.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

There are Sea Cows, Sea Lions and Sea Horses but no Sea Giraffes as far as I am aware.  Until now anyway.
Glad you all like it.
The wings and horizontal tails will be my interpretation of Brad C's contour line* camo.  I plan to have the dark blue for the "deepest" parts moving through to the light blue for the "shallowest".

*Although Isobaths rather than Contour Lines is I guess the correct name if talking in terms of depths.

Instead of giraffes, the hull camo brings to my mind the technique with which the blades of magical/energy swords and the like are painted on miniatures: thin blue stripes becoming progressively lighter towards the centre (with tiny white highlights) on a dark blue background. You can substitute the blues for greens or reds, but the idea is the same.

Which means it's totally cool.

Hell yeah that's what I'm tal'm'bout!   ;D

ummmmm, thanks Snowie, I think.
Mavis the magical energy sea giraffe...
;)

I continued on with the pattern today.  It's rather time consuming.  I continued down the Starboard side and have almost reached the tail.

Weaver

That looks excellent! What's the plan for the wings?

I can believe that. Does look good

Would a Sea Giraffe be a shallow water animal and thus have it's neck way above water or a deep water animal with just the head above surface ? One for Sir David I think  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

And then I washed my paint jars in preparation to mixing the various shades for the Isobath Camo.
