Right purty.
I like the way the major blocks aren't just slotted next to each other, there are 'splinters' or smaller fill-in spots too.

Thanks Rick.  As it evolved it became more crazy paving than sea giraffe.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Really beautiful! How did you do it? Hand painting or masking and spraying?

By hand.  Masking that would drive me bonkers.

;D Maybe, but it still works.

Glorious!!!!!   Sans masking.. I love it... it would drive me nuts, too. I totally dig masking, though, and I'm willing to do it.. but.. man.... there's no way I'd mask something like this.

The lighter blue segments here and there are intriguing...

Just an element of randomness.  Why?  No idea.  It seemed like the thing to do.

Not really.  But I have been watching pinstriping videos on You Tube to see how some of them steady their hands and over the years have developed a technique of sticking my little finger out as a support against the model.  I also have learnt not to paint on the days when I am less steady.

Today I started on the Wings and tail.
Here is the palette.
Palette by Fred Maillardet, on Flickr
1 is Vallejo Sky Blue and 7 is Vallejo Intermediate Blue.  2 to 6 are mixes of the 2 in varying ratios.
I mixed up a batch of each in my paint storage jars.  If you don't store some of a custom colour then it can bite you in the bum if you find a spot you missed.  Don't ask me how I know this.
Here is Mavis the Magical Sea Giraffe.  1 and 3 to 7 painted.  2 to go.

I explained to Mrs z about Sea Giraffes.  She says we are all mad.
