Messerschmitt Me262A-6a

The Me262A-6a was a modified version of the standard Me262A-1a, but optimized for Air Defence missions.
it was revealed in mid-1945 as a stop-gap fighter until the next generation fighters for the Luftwaffe, Such as the Ta.183, became available in large numbers.

the A-6a version was equiped with an airbrake, to improve deceleration in combat and uppon landing, witch was a problem with early versions. the airframe was made lighter and 2 30mm cannons were removed to make room for extra ammo. it was also equiped with 4 air-to-air rockets, later models were to have 2 X-4 missiles under the wings.
