PR19_Kit

Every time I go to Telford I always say that I don't really need any more kits, I've more than enough in The Loft to keep me busy for the rest of my days, but one or two always seem to demand to be exported to the Forest of Dean somehow.....  ;D

This weekends haul was :-

1) Hasegawa F-106 from the Kit Sale (£4.00  ;D)
2) Westland Welkin vacform (Kit Sale 200, £2.00  ;D and needed for spares for my Welkin III project)
3) S&M Stalwart Mk 2 (to replace the one that got stolen at last year's SMW )
4) Special Hobby Mirage FIC in their Simple Set range
5) Airfix Scout helicopter from our own Howard of Effingham (trade to be arranged)(destined to be a Wasp with a C Scale conversion)
6) Two sets of Chinook rotor blades from Whirlybirds so I can actually build the Chinooks that donated their blades for the Rotocrane.
7) An IPMS #1 scraping tool

Plus a few books as well.  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Telford haul-of-shame part deux...

Combat Kits 1/72nd Avro Lancastrian Nene Testbed conversion (resin)

These three were part of a small selection on a stall where the vendor decided to drop all his prices by 50% at about 2.30pm. unfortunately I didn't see this until they'd mostly gone or I'd have had more. The Me209 in particular was ridiculously cheap... :

UM 1/72nd T-31 Demolition Tank (Sherman with rocket-launchers on the turret sides)
Eastern Express 1/72nd MBB Bo-105 helo in Russian EMERCOM colours with an external winch. Apparently this is a re-boxed A-Model kit.
Special Hobby 1/72nd Messerschmitt Me 209V4

The following four were more of the Collectakit plain box bargain specials. The P1127 was £3  :o  A pristine unbuilt one was going for £25 on another stall. Can you imagine the looks of horror when the Classic Airfix SIG see this on the stand in a whiff colour scheme... Given Spinners' recent profiles, I'm thinking about an aircraft loaned to the Japanese for trials in a yellow & white scheme with big hinomarus...

Italeri  1/72nd Eurocopter Tigre H.A.P. helo
Esci 1/72nd F-15 Satellite Killer (ASAT missile launcher)
2 x Airfix 1/76th Scorpion tanks in one box
Airfix 1/72nd P1127 - Started (bit messed up but saveable)

A bunch of decal sheets from Modelworks, intended for racing cars but going on planes all have logos and text in a variety of sizes and colours:

Bosch sponsorship
Playboy Bunny symbols and text in black and white
Jagermeister sponsorship
Wurth sponsorship
Black circles
White circles

The Fujimi "thing"  looks like some sort of mine workings on an artificial island.  What exactly is it, and what scale, please?

Yeah, that's pretty cool right there. Almost looks like Alcatraz. Does look like some sort of mining operationg with all the trenching going on in the middle.

That's Hashima Island in 1/3000. A small natural island sat atop a big coal seam, so they stuffed the island with coal mining equipment and living quarters for 5000 people. The coal mine was emptied and abandoned in 1974, all of the population moved out then. It's been featured in the Bond movie Skyfall.
