It certainly feels that way, us modllers are never satisfied!  If we want more, we have to pay for it.  The current economic situation doesn't help either, for both manufacturers and punters.

I feel differently about the two new F-106 kits.  Trumpeter kit seems overpriced (the Airfix Phantom is about 2/3 the price), however, the Meng kit contains a level of detail that you'd normally go to the aftermarket for so you should expect to pay extra for that.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I actually like building older moulded kits.  They represent to me, at least, more of a challenge and anyway, I recognise most of the detail ends up hidden anyway.  An adequate cockpit is all I want.  All the rest is frippery IMO.     :banghead:

At least you can choose which bits you want to hyper-detail. Not much point having beautiful 10-part wheel wells and PE undercarriage brackets if you're building it wheels-up....

The most unusual entry I will ever make here......

Idling in Glasgow while visiting the SECC for Model Rail Scotland 2018 whom do i meet but our very own TSRJoe!

Two hours later i leave 'armed' to the teeth with LOTS of resin and vacform bits....

Not the least of which is a couple of fuselages for the Westland project between the Wessex and the Westminster. A large fuselage for a really big 'Air Horse' thingy and some very nice bits of resin cast from moulds on the spot! One of the vacform bits will get 'mated' with a set of Brigand wings for something that came to mind whilst we were drinking tea, putting the world to rights and i was looking a wooden former on his office bench.

A very big thank-you to you Joe!

Good haul from the IPMS show in Richmond, VA, USA show on the 24th.  Really top notch vendor set ups and good prices.  My first time there.

The B-52 and P5M Marlin had been on my wish list for a very long time for nefarious WHIF ideas.  Was about to get a B-52 on ebay, but saved about $30 off (plus shipping) what I had been seeing on ebay.  Sprung for $8 US for the EA-6B but all of the smaller aircraft were $5 or $3 each.  Could have bought WAY more but restrained myself.

In 1/72: B-52, Marlin, F-80, EA-6B, F-104 (x3), F-102
1/144: F-15, F-16
1/100: F-104

Id like to admit to Obtaining a 1/48 Airfix Spitfire 19, Not sure why though, apart from the fact I just like the
PR.19  and the price was not unreasonable ;D
it's not my normal scale and I've already got one......
I suppose I could use the spare set of wings from the 1/48 Seafire I've got, and some PSR and produce a
PR.21? Maybe the Norwegians would like it?

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

Round 2 re-issue of the old MPC/Airfix Space 1999 Eagle Transporter kit

Was tempted to pick up this kit, but put off by the work required to make its look halfway decent. I did hear that Round 2 following their success with their 1/48th kit are looking to replace the old re-issued 72nd scale kit with a new tooling based on their 48th kit however its likely to be double the price of the current kit at least or half the price of its larger brother so its probably going to be a case of horses for courses.

Be interesting to see what you do with it as I expect you'll do something special with it

Seeing as you have a trio of Starfighters... Ignoring weight limits, would a Starfighter physically fit under B-52 wing, X-15 style? Also, to balance the loadout, the BUFF would have to carry one on either side. In other words, this would be a continuation of the XF-85 and F-84 FICON ideas, to provide fighter escort for the B-52 strike force all the way to the target.

PR19_Kit

I don't recall NASA 'balancing the load' with the X-15 toting B-52, they just hung it under there went flying.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Or any of the test vehicles they carried.  Mind you, I suppose you could just fill the port wing with fuel, they'd only need enough to get everything to launch height.
