True, but then the number of people who'd burst into tears if you replaced the Starfighter's T-tail with low tailplanes is approximately none...

Personally speaking I like the 104 as it is. 

The tailplane issue could be resolved by going CL-1200 Lancer style on the tailplane,
you could say that after the 1200 was passed over because it was considered too expensive
an option, a rebuild was engineered for the 104 that incorporated a few of the 1200's features.

Exactly. The F-5 and F-16 don't exactly suffer by having the tailplane at the same level as the wing: they could have, as a minimum fix, moved the tailplane to the mid position and left the wings where they were. Moving it below that to the Lancer's position and giving the rear portion of the fuselage an 'arch' cross-section might have made more room for the actuators though.

Did the Lancer have a Crusader-style variable incidence wing? If not, it should have done: it's a natural for it, both in layout and necessity.

Finally succumbed to getting a zvesda yak-130. I have given up trying to get replacement parts for my Amodel one. Glad I have got one though as it has quite a nice choice of weapons with it. Hopefully it will be easier to build than the Amodel one.

I finally succumbed to the Special Hobby sale and they arrived this morning. Not bad, took just over a week, with me choosing the cheapest postage option and given the weather across Europe.

Anyway I received.

MPM 1/72 Ba 888 Lince. I already have one in the stash, but I'm thinking Hungarian for this one.

Azure 1/72 PZL P.11c "Foreign Service". I have the Polish AF boxing of this kit and their PZL P.24. I'm thinking either Greek, they had 24's so it would be a subtle (i.e. unnoticeable WIF) or maybe one of the Baltic States.

The Live Resin stuff is, as usual, exquisitely cast.

Off eBay but from MrModels an MPC Space 1999 Eagle Transporter

I blame Weaver and his Eagle & Hawk thread as I know Round 2 are working on an Accurate 1/72nd Eagle based on their 48th kit to replace this 70s original tooling, however it's scheduled to follow after their new tool Hawk Attack craft so it could be a couple of years before it  ever appears at best!

I'll probably build the kit as is but doe some mods to improve the looks if I can but its just a fun build for later on.
