Off eBay but from MrModels an MPC Space 1999 Eagle Transporter

I blame Weaver and his Eagle & Hawk thread as I know Round 2 are working on an Accurate 1/72nd Eagle based on their 48th kit to replace this 70s original tooling, however it's scheduled to follow after their new tool Hawk Attack craft so it could be a couple of years before it  ever appears at best!

I'll probably build the kit as is but doe some mods to improve the looks if I can but its just a fun build for later on.

There's a good series of videos here by a guy modifying the old MPC kit to make it look a bit better. In particular, he shows how he hollowed out the front and rear cages:

After reading about Thorvic saying that Aerocraft Models were doing a correction set for the Airfix 1/72 Phantom I had to order some.

Two  :o sets arrived today after the instructions were emailed on Saturday when the sets were posted.

Not sure if it counts as 'stash' but I collected my A4 vacforming machine this evening. It's a really good piece of work, and even comes with a couple of sheets of 20 thou!

All I need now is to carve some masters and I'm away.  ;D ;D ;D

Also don't know if this counts as 'stash' but a little packet of Lego arrived while I was out today, together with a note from Royal Mail telling me to go and pick up another package which is probably more of the same.

Why?

Well I've wanted a bit of Lego for a while in order to make jigs to hold models while the glue dries, and on my latest idle trawl through the bay of 'e's I notice some packs of identical bricks and some base plates at reasonable prices.

The Wooksta!

You're never too old for Lego and never justify yourself doing so either.  I've been trying - and largely succeeding - to collect the 1978 Town range in boxed condition.  Only missing one - 674 Forklift and truck

the 1978 Weetabix set is easier to get in boxed condition and that's supposedly rare.

I'd like to recreate this photo:

My parents actually bought me the full town for Christmas one year: that was how I got into Lego in the first place. My dad built it all up so it was laid out and ready on Christmas morning. Can't remember what year it was exactly, but it would be well before '78: more like '73 or '74 probably. Most of the roof tile pieces were red, not blue. I do remember the white bricks with the Shell logo on them though. Come to think of it, it must have been before minifigs were introduced because I remember them coming in.

I also remember having a Lego 'ideas book' (can't remember the exact title) that had some really atmospheric photographs in it where they'd turned the studio lights down in order to show off the lighting kits. I remember loving the 'magic' feel of those pics even though I was small... <_<

EDIT: think it might have been earlier actually. This scene looks awfully familiar:

Just bought on eBay a joblot of 1/72 A-10 Warthogs in need of repair.

Just arrived my very anticipated Modelsvit Mirage 4000. I am hoping it goes together better than their other kits, as it looks nice in the box, with lots of detail.

Here's a pic of it with the top frame lifted off from the vacuum chamber base. The hose thingie on the left is the vacuum cleaner connector, and all of it is supplied, even the bulldog clips.

Actually Westbury-on-Severn, just 10 miles away from me.  ;D

But in reality I bought it via ebay, it was mentioned on here a short while ago. The same guy does an A5 version as well.

The A4 one is here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A4-Vacuum-Forming-Kit/273102965500

Ta for that.  Now if I could cast white metal, I'd be laughing.
