Kit, you're better than Scalmates, I do declare!! Them TV shows where people need to call in an expert? That's you for this airliner stuff.

I've just been around a VERY long time Brad, plus I have a video-tape memory too, very handy.

Preiser make a VAST range of figures in all sports of scales, admittedly most are in HO/OO scale, but lots of them in N 1/148/1/160 too.

Aye!

I sure wish I had a better memory.     Hey, here's one I saw the other day.... I think it was 1/154 scale, and is an airport hangar kit. That's close enough to work for 1/144 I do believe. Things like doors (regular ones, for people) might look a little off but there's no hard dimension for the size of a hangar so the scale is somewhat arbitrary...      I'll have to see if I can find that again. I am considering buying one but the price on it makes my head spin a lil bit...

EDIT:  No, it's HO scale 1/87!   Would work, nearly, for 1/72, not 1/144, I guess I got them confused. Would probably work just fine for many 1/72 builds like WWII prop fighters and and stuff!

The latter might end up in the RAF Centenary GB, at least in major parts.

Ordered tonight. Hopefully on their way tomorrow; ;D

1 x Black Dog 1/35 M1126 Stryker (ICV) Interior Detail Set for AFV Club kit #35126 (BD-T35001) - I'm doing a Stryker au naturelle except for the scheme & user
1 x AFV Club 1/35 M1126 Stryker 8x8 ICV Infantry Carrier Vehicle (AFV-AF35126) - I'm doing a Stryker au naturelle except for the scheme & user
1 x Meng 1/35 Merkava Mk.4M w/Trophy APS (Active Protection Systems) (MENG-TS036) - I already have a Merkava IV but not with the Trophy system, so the other will be ... altered
2 x Plus Model 1/35 Plastic Cans (30pcs) (PLUS-468) - 'coz you can't have too many bits & bobs to busy up a vehicle/diorama
1 x Trumpeter1/48 Aero L-39ZA "Albatro" (TR 05805) - I think they mean "Albatros" but, as their decals tend to be a parody of English, their kit may be a parody of the Aero L-39ZA, we'll find out.

The Avrojet must be the most comfortable airliner in the modern age. Luxurious and roomy leather recliners even in the "cattlewagon" (Economy class). Or at least this used to be the case aboard SN Brussels/Brussels Airlines Avrojets in 2006-2007 when I had to commute between Helsinki and Brussels for a year. Knees in your mouth on a wooden school bench (or so it felt like) on Finnair or SAS/Blue1 (various marks of  Airbus), or "Al Bundy watching TV" pose on a soft leather sofa on not!Sabena, that wasn't a very hard choice when the ticket price was usually cheaper too on the latter so my employer company also agreed with the choice.

There's four airlines at YYC that have picked up a few of those Avro RJ's (real ones I mean), they're used mostly on charter flights taking oil field workers 'up-north'. I see them everyday now when I'm working airside.

Had a lot of fun hunting and buying some new kits the past couple of weeks.

One I was really looking forward to is this 1/144 F-27 that I snagged from JayBee. Thanks, Jim!!!!!

At around the same time I spied some feller tha listed 4-5 YS-11s at the same time. That means less people bidding on each and sure enough no one else bid and I got one I could live with.

Magnificent.

So anyway.. them Doyusha kits are the ones I'm most stoked about. Albeit short, for awhile, those where my "white whales."

Next up, I spied this thing for less than $50 (48? 46?)  so I snapped it up (and like $15 in shipping? 12, 20? Something, I'm not going to look all this crap up right now..  )  :

That's a lot of seats to paint.

How cool is that though?! I'm building up a collection of these "cut away" models. I was also bidding on a glorious L-1011 Cut Away kit but that sucker went way up out of my comfort zone. I'd never seen that one before. Hell, I never seen THIS one before or the last two either, for that matter.  ;D   But anyway...

Lastly, I bought this somewhat strange looking Carvair cargo plane. I think it looks really cool!I love the colors and livery, too! And, of course, a 737-200 for my AIR CALIFORNIA transfers.

So far this last week I've bought another airliner, some wee lil people,  and just recently a SAILBOAT of all things....  :o ;D    When the stuff arrives I'll post about it.

Bra, you're truly on an airliner roll.  ;D

That A-380 kit's going to take up some HUGE storage space! I've got a couple of them but they're 'standards' and even so they take up loads of space!

Got a 1/72 Formaplane kit of the Carvair in the stash, and I have an A380 in 1/144 too, but it's not one of those kits even though it's a Revell

Yes, I'm having a ton of fun searching out deals and building up my collection.  It's really fantastic how much fun of the hobby can be had outside of actual building.

Storage, yeah.. woo...  ugh. I did that big kit re-organize thing earlier this year and I'm glad for that because of the room it freed up.  I can't keep the airliners contained to the space I figured would be enough to store them in. So, I'm just dumping them in with my 1/72 stuff now.

Some of the bigger stuff like this A-380 I stack up against the wall face out and can actually stack them up pretty high without them wanting to topple over. Not only do they take up relatively little room this way, it's fun seeing all the box faces with the glorious artwork and beautiful colors and stuff.   But yeah, uhhh... there's a small part of me that is hoping that I already have most of the larger kits now because I don't need this getting out of hand and become Brown Recluse Metropolis or something.

Nothing in the mail today but I ordered this little quad jet business jet thing? Toted the presidents around when the larger plane (707 at the time I think) wouldn't work. Can't wait to get that one!  The presidential livery by Raymond Loewy is some of the classiest stuff ever if you ask me! I can't believe someone would want to change it. Ahem.

That'd be a Lockheed Jetstar then. I didn't know anyone had kitted that, nice one!

Roden strikes again! It's a name I'm starting to see more often as I whittle my search for civvie 1/144 stuff down, getting away from the larger and more mainstream aircraft. Starting to see lots of Amodel, too..  won't be long before I try one of those to see how their 1/144 stuff is. In fact, I found a neat smaller sized cargo plane type thing for less than $20 total so I might snag it.
