Got a red 'We tried to deliver a parcel' note from the Post Office about my Big H order. As I was en route back from York I missed the postman.  :banghead:

I'll be off to the sorting office in the morning of course.

Another mecha purchase - and a kind of unexpected Holy Grail win at ebay: a Dougram "Eyevan" (which is probably the Japanese malapropism for "Ivan"!) truck, in the Revell Robotech re-boxing.
Box is a bit dusty and nudged, but I hope the kit is complete. These things normally go at insane prices (EUR 100m- and far more), and Max Factory recently released a new kit. But even these cost easily more than EUR 50,-, and I got an "original" for just 28,-. O.K., it's just a big flat trailer truck, but maybe it will become part of a bigger dioramae scene. The Revell box does not call it "Robot Recovery Unit" without reason...  ;)

Picked up my parcel from Big H this morning, deep joy.

It contained another A Model CMC Leopard (the Big H site warned me that I'd already bought one  ;D) a set of cameras for PR Spitfires from Attack Squadron, a CMK resin flare bay set for a PR9 Canberra and some Flightpath etched cockpit ladders and other stuff, also for a PR9 Canberra.

I have cunning plans for all of these of course, but that doesn't mean they'll actually come to anything in the next decade or two.  ;D

Your going to do a modern day Mistle with the Leopard on top of the PR9?

On their way;

1 x Tamiya 1/35 Matilda Mk.III/IV British Infantry Tank (TM 35300) - the 3rd for the stash, currently building the 1st (& it's going together beautifully, it's the Bronco "workable" late model tracks that are slowing the build)
1 x Mirror Models 1/35 British Morris C8 Quad Mk.III No. 5 (MM35400)
1 x MasterBox 1/35 WWII British Infantry Weapons (MB 35109)
1 x Tamiya 1/35 Federal German Marder 1A2 MICV w/ Milan ATM. (TM 35162) - to be combined with my other Marder 1A2 to make a SciFi exploration vehicle to replace a single-Marder version from which parts will be stolen
2 x Legend Products 1/35 SAS Jeep Wheel Set (4 Front Wheels, 2 Spare Wheels) (LF1232)

Hehehe, no, but it's a good idea.

It may take some believing but the PR9 will be an RW build, XH131 to be precise, the aircraft I always think of as 'my' Canberra.

Looks good.  If not used for its intended purpose it would make a good base for a SciFi ZeLL fighter set up.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Dizzyfugu

That's true. The truck is huge, and it could certainly be used for non-SF ZeLL projects. Would certainly look good with Red Stars, too...

Got myself a hasegawa weapons set 4 as I am running low on agm-88's, thing is, there is only a pair of them in the set, and a load of stuff I probably won't use. Still, it was only four quid.

First show of the season and on home turf, but a new venue at the Football stadium which put more stands and traders into a single large comfortable room, which was appreciated by most of the regulars.

Stash wise good intentions went out the window:-

Italeri 1/72 Skyfall Merlin
Italeri 1/72 Super Puma
Revel 1/72 MK41 Sea King (Fujimi reboxing)
Airfix 1/144 Space Shuttle (recent boxing)
Airfix 1/72 Phantom FG1 x 2 they had show discount

I'd already blown my budget yesterday...

Anyway, this week's acquisitions...

From Dadlassamu's sale:
8 x Airfix Spitfire mk Ia new tool

From ebay
Revell Spitfire Vb New Tool*
Brengun Spitfire mk IX Floatfire

From Uncle Frank
Revell Spitfire Vb new tool
Amodel Yak 2
Amodel Yak 4 - I just like the look of this light fighter.  I'll try and get the Yak 6 to go with them.  Probably Finnish post war markings.
KPM Avia CS-199 - I want at least 2 sets of the markings for other things.  I'm really looking forward to the Isreali boxing that's been announced!

From the Bolton show:
Sword Seafire IIIc - sadly, this was the original boxing which didn't give the spare Vc wings or fuselage...
AZ Spitfire mk Vb
Heller Spitfire XVIe
S&M Canberra B2
Model Alliance Spitfire mk VI conversion
Aeroclub Shackleton MR2/AEW2 conversion - at just £3, I couldn't pass it up!

I also spent much of the show trying to find, unsuccessfully, a Matchbox or the Revell rebox Wellington.  Trumpeter GR version, Revell reboxed MPM mk II and Italeri's MPM rebox mk Ic, yes, did find them but they were either not what I wanted or were above what I was prepared to pay.  Found one on ebay in seconds, albeit just a shade too highly priced but the cheapest available.  So that was snapped up.

*All the comments I made upthread about this kit are completely justified.  It has all of the faults of the mk IIa and compounds them with upper wing gun blisters that are completely the wrong shape and in the wrong position, which is made yet worse by having them moulded integral with the wing and impossible to fix without resorting to surgery.

Fairly restrained haul from Bolton today:

Italeri 1/72nd A-129 Mangusta - had an idea that involves one of these just yesterday, so it seemed like fate...

IBG 1/72nd PZL-42 (Karas development with no gondola and twin tail fins). Looks lovely in the box, with a fully detailed interior included PE, so a real bargain at £7.

Projekts Model Co. 1/72nd AGM-86B cruise missile.

Books:

Interceptor Fighters by Michael J.F.Bowyer. Covers much the same ground as James Goulding's book Interceptor, i.e. RAF fighters 1935-1945 but it's different and so complimentary.

TAM - The Argentine Medium Tank by Juan Carlos Cicalesi & Santiago Rivas. The TAM is a 105mm gun tank developed from the Marder IFV for Argentina in the 1970s.
