So you must have the Anigrand kit? That is glorious... I keep arguing with myself over the pros and cons of buying one. I tell myself... "no, it's just too large" but then I tell myself, "If I ever find someone selling one for $150 or less I'm definitely getting it" because I can't pass up a deal. But... man... what to do with the thing.  ;D  I seem to recall someone having made a 1/72 Galaxy in vacuform was well but could have been a fever dream.

Nope! I've got a Blackbird Models vacuform (ex-ID Models) and a Combat Models vacuform, both 1/72. One will be a C-5M because I got a set of engine nacelles from Aircraft in Miniature for it (these actually being for a 747 alternative to the stock engines). And I do have a Revell 1/144 one too.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Oh man!! Righteous wares, for sure!    Nothing like having a fleet of them things hanging around.  ;D  I like the plans for making the C-5M, especially, being that I don't recall seeing any built C-5M models.

I have a love/hate relationship with the C-5M. I do love seeing Galaxies flying well into the 21st century but I miss the sound of the TF39s. That was a large part of the thrill of seeing them fly by.  Also, I wish they were still at Altus AFB.  :-\

A Revell 1/144 C-5?  :o

I never knew they made one.

I had always assumed it was another re-boxing of the Otaki kit. That said, this is me we're talking about here.... trying to remember things.  ;D

According to the 'Big Book', the Revell kit is not an Otaki re-box. It says that Testors reboxed the Revell kit ----

Ohhhh man, my pocket book is screaming for mercy... because now I have to have one..

Thanks for the info, one and all. Fun stuff and apologies all around for dragging things off topic, as it were. Seems I've been doing that lately!

If Revell did one I can't see why everyone keeps on and on about the Otaki kit. It's not that exceptional really.

Revell obviously never sold theirs over here, I've never even heard of it before now.

Scalemates says they're all the same but then again even I (and I barely know anything at all) have caught them being wrong and/or not even having any information what-so-ever on certain kits so while I dearly love Scalemates, it apparantly isn't the be-all and end-all source of info.

Nor is the 'Big Book' Brad, I've found numerous errors or just missed information. But the author was trying to be thorough as the book was an attempt to list every plastic kit (resin and vacuforms too) produced since they started making plastic kits (just before WWII). We could find out that the Revell kit was a re-box of the Otaki one.

I think it is otherwise we would have two missing moulds.

There's always the new Roden kit these days

I'll hook the kit out this weekend and take a couple of pics of the box and the bits in it, but I think it's a recent release (re-release)

Yessuh! Nice.. drag that bad boy out.

FWIW I saw a picture of the Revell kit (C-5A) fuselage halves and I couldn't tell any difference from the ones I have (Otaki). It would be better if I or one of youse had it all in person to compare but I just thought I would add that bit of info.
