Another Academy P-47D (as whiffing fodder, to be combined with Supermarine Attacker wings, you know... ) and a Hobbycraft CT-141 Tutor (to be converted into a two-engine light attack aircraft proposal).

From the LHS, an Academy US 2.5 Ton Cargo Truck with accessories and a Hobby Boss Mi 8 MT/Mi 17.  Both 1/72 and both impulse purchases.
The truck will accessorise my various zenrat industries cargo planes while the Hip will be PDRV military.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Had a trip out over the weekend to Halifax Modellers World.
Picked up the reissued Revell 1/72 Hawker Hunter FGA.9.

An Academy 1/72nd US Ambulance & tow tractor kit.

Yes a bit odd for me but i think i have been influenced by the look of the dodge for years, i blame it on watching M.A.S.H. as a kid with the family in the 70s as i remember creating my impression of one in Lego to use with the 32nd scale Airfix and Britains soldiers

A new (to me anyway.....)  camera as BOTH of my veteran Pentax K-100Ds have died, and they're irrepairable as spares are just not available! Disaster!  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

So today was spent trawling around the county seeing if anyone had got a cheap-ish s/h DSLR that will take Pentax K mount lenses. Got a Pentax K-M that's in really good shape and even comes with a manual and the software.

Result!

No one else bid on these first two. Why? I don't know -- when the Otaki kit "next door" was at over $100 and still days left to bid on, I scored BOTH of these for $94(after shipping).  The 747 has been picked through and work done on it even but the Galaxy is all sealed up (inside anyway)!!  Now that I have two of these, I plan to make one a whif and might start it soon for the group build. (or might not if I can't find some transfers) :-X

Next up, some more stuff no one else bid on. I got these kits for $1.50 a piece and it cost another $11 to have them shipped. Both are in excellent shape!   Cracks me up when I hear people say "Oh, man, you won't ever catch me paying EBAY PRICES."    Well you go on and buy your stuff from Malarkey Brothers Kit Emporium and I'll keep shelling out 1's of dollars on kits.  ;)

Next one was $16 free shipping but I have no idea if that's a good deal or not.. I didn't care, I just wanted the damn thing.  ;D

Neat!! I didn't know this existed until I stumbled onto it. All I was aware of was Magisters. I think I read the French used these and actually trained with the USN at some point. That's a neat little tid-bit! Learn something new all the time.

And yet another airliner for my quickly growing collection of this. This one is so cool.... nose glass!      Can't recall exactly what I paid for this one but it was ~$25 after shipping. I think that's going rate so I didn't save any money this time but oh well. Win some, lose some.

I have a couple more Zvesda kits coming including the gi-normous 1/144 747-8 and a 1/144 Ilyushin thing.. 4 engines... I can't remember.. Il-86 I think? Man, I love these things.  Military planes are cool but I love the colors and gorgeous lines of some of the airliners.

I can see it's getting to you there Brad.  ;D

The huge range of colour schemes is what got me turned on to airliners too. That's one reason why I have a pile of civvie decal sheets that's the best part of 6 inches high!

Yeah buddy!! This is pretty fun stuff for me.. like a whole new realm of the hobby has opened up.  Kind of nice not having to detail cockpits and mess with ordnance, too.

Now I just need to get my hands on a 1/144 ATR 72. I found some by some company call F-RSIN but I wonder if there are others. It gets American Eagle livery when I snag one.

Oooh, nice. Now all we need is for somebody to see there's a market and do an affordable 1/72nd scale version.

One very large box containing a single ModelCollect P1000 Ratte arrived yesterday evening. In the one true scale of course.
I always hope for the best.
