- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

At Northern yesterday and what I actually wanted either wasn't out yet or wasn't on sale anywhere but still got a couple of bits to bring home on the train.

Eduard 1/72 Mig 21 "Interceptor" profi pack. Probably build the real world Chad AF one

Airfix 1/72 Defiant, another one at a good price. Thinking RAF based in Egypt as a nightfighter with black undersides and standard desert AF uppers as part of the RAF 100 GB

Various paints.

I also had a good look at some Modelcollect 1/72 German WWII E Series armour projects and some Hobbyboss 1/350 pre Dreadnaught battleships. Will be getting some once I get home

I could use the wings and engines from a Lancaster or Shackleton to build a Avro Tudor look-a-like.

Direct from Japan the Tamiya 1/72 DDV-193 Ibuki - Anime JMSDF version of the Izumo DDH fitted with a Ski-Jump and operating F-35. Fictional and therefore a Whiff, but suspect the ships will eventually get F-35B once they get the nerve to do so.

A bit of excessive buy as whilst I will build it I will rob the 10 F-35 to use on HMS Queen Elizabeth as I found the 3D printed ones I got whilst lovely in detail are quite rough when painted and too small and fragile to clean up to a decent standard.

And expensive - especially for us poor pensioners  ;)

No seriously, I can see me getting a couple, there were so many divergent design paths taken by the different nations.

I can highly recommend the "Tarnanstriche" book by Johannes Denneke!

Besides, I ordered some mecha pimping stuff, 2x Kotobukiya MSG Modeling Support Goods "Missile & Radome". Might end up on a Dorvack PA conversion (AA) some day.

Just arrived from Hannants, KP Comet Racer.  Looks nice, massive improvement over the ancient Airfix and FROG kits (£30+ for an SBS Comet is a tad too much for me).

The instructions don't explain the applicability of the optional parts.

Decal sheet will generate controversy (see the Britmodeller thread).  Nicely printed other than the Union Jacks, which are out of register.

So which option to go with?  G-ACSS is too obvious, G-ACSR is what the De Havilland Museum's replica is being finished in so I should go with that, but G-ACSP is the prettiest, so I guess it's 'Black Magic'!

I've been looking at that as well. Mind you I did enjoy my conversion of the Airfix one to a P.R. aircraft

I'd sooner chop an old Airfix Comet about than a new KP one.  The two Airix examples in the stash are now in the sales box, but I may yet keep one for whiffery.  I do have a plan for the 'racers' GB that would also solve the Union Jack problem, I guess.

Yep, decided. Return one to the stash!
