The Wooksta!

From Uncle Frank:
3 Xtradecal RAF Type C roundels (for 2TAF Spitfires)
Several bottles of Xtracrylic

From Ebay
1 box assorted Eduard Spitfires spares.  Given the spares in just one kit, and the parcel contains spares from at least 10 according to the seller, that's a lot of spare bits!

Wheels, props, doors, u/c legs and doors, tailwheels and tailwheel doors, exhausts, cannon barrels, radiators (possibly*).  I'm sure I can see a prop in there too.  Given the volume of bits, I'm just wondering if he's used Eduard's own Brassin aftermarket for the kits and chucked everything left over in a box?

All will feed into stuff nicely, and the cockpit internals will do for the shedload of Aeroclub vacform fuselages in the stash.

*I think I can see parts of one set and I know I'll need them for an Eduard 16 lowback that came with a spare fuselage/wing sprue.

Fascinating EBay buy Lee.

There's part of my personality that would want to start a spreadsheet so I could catalogue what's there  :-\ Need to look at the meds again  ;)

From the IPMS Glasgow Show on Saturday

1/72 Airfix Phantom FG1
1/72 Special Hobby Fairey Barracuda BPF boxing (Hope they do the post war boxing too !)
1/72 Hasegawa EF-111A (base kit for an F-111K at a later date)

Not a great deal that tempted me, but with SMW only 3 weeks away I wasn't going to go on a spending spree anyway.

Under the supervision of SWMBO, from a model shop just around the corner from our hotel in Prague, literally only 2 minutes walk;

1 x Eduard Polikarpov 1-16 Type 24 (Weekend Edition)
1 x KM Su-7 BM
3 x sets of 1/48 transfers/decals

Young bloke who served us had lived in BrisVegas for a couple of years & could understand Australian, which helped. ;)

My memories of Prague are of there being 4 model shops within 3/4 minutes walk of the centre of the City

Did you make or have you plans to get to the Special Hobby/MPM shop ? It's Nirvana  ;D

Not exactly a stash increase, but I've just got a new camera, one of those flat ones with a lens that retracts so it fits in a  pocket. It's a Lumix DMC-TZ80 for what it's worth.

In theory I already have one of that type of camera but it's been missing for at least five years and I got fed up with lugging my big Pentax DSLR around to model shows, thus the new purchase.

I'll test it out on the Super Stretch 8 later on today I hope.

The Wooksta!

From ebay:
Lift Here! Yugoslav Spitfire mk IXs

According to Air Britain's "Spitfire International" they only had three, so it shouldn't be a very big sheet.  Still, even with postage it's under £3, so worth having anyway.

Only 3?  Hmmm.  May well have to rectify that and I do have a few built up mk IXs that need paint.  NO!  You have enough to do right now!

Ol' boy was selling this for $15 and shipped it to me for another $8. I figured "what the hell " and bought it.

Kind of brings me back around to my roots a bit. One of the models I build back in the day as a kid was a B-17, although a G model. I might just build this one pretty soon instead of letting it into the stash.

PR19_Kit

Ooooh yes. I've always liked those early B-17s. the RAF had a few of them for a while and they look very odd in RAF camo.
