Got home voiceless after a weekend talking railways at the biggest model railway show in the country, to find a MONSTER parcel from the Big H just left lying on my doorstep! 

It held two sets of white metal DC8 landing gear, which sadly come without wheels (!), a AMP Fairey Ultra-Light helicopter (no idea what I'm going to with that yet, maybe a 'lifeboat' for the Rotocrane?), A Special Hobby Barracuda  that will end up with 'Grumman' wing folds to confuse the JMNs, a Mach 2 York that I have plans for  , and a Mach 2 (yes, I'm a masochist) Kaman Huskie. That may end up OOB, but I'm sure I'll think of a suitable Whiffed fate for it at some stage.

I got an early Xmas present from the girl friend this weekend after saying my airbrush had packed in. Two airbrushes, cleaning tools, and a compressor with a reservoir tank under it was handed to me on Saturday. Very chuffed to say the least. I can airbrush my T-14 Armata now

Modelcollect weapons set 1.
This set being U.S cruise missiles, in 1/72nd scale. You don't get many of them in the box, but they can be built either folded up, or with their wings out for in-flight configuration

They did indeed, the winning Aberdeen Railway Modellers layout was directly opposite the stand I was manning. I never saw it though as there was always a 4 deep crowd standing in front of it! 

A good friend of mine was the Captain of the Basingstoke Club's layout and he gave me 'the guided tour' of that one.

Ah, good  It was a great series and I think they just about deserved to win it, if only because they were the only team who totally embraced the Finals theme.

It was obviously successful as well as C5 are having a second series next year.

The staff at the show reckoned the HORRENDOUS record breaking crowds on the Saturday were due to that programme series too, although most of the 'serious' railway modellers reckon the programme had little to do with 'real' railway modelling.

I've been looking at the range at a couple of shows I've been to this year and am sorely tempted.

There's a wide range, and sometimes you find them at pretty acceptable prices. The kits are detailed well and go together nicely - and there's a huge whiffing potential, even OOB.

I can understand that Kit, but the programme it'self kept saying that and it was a good advert for the hobby, indeed all modelling hobbies 

In the very first episode one of the presenters let slip he was an armour modeller, when he picked something up on one of the layouts. It was quite amusing.

A boring airliner, and a not boring CONTRAPTION.

Well, technically it's an airliner, too, I think, but it's a nutty one so I had to have it.



I have another nutty airliner contraption on the way, too. This thing is... like... a biplane airliner?  Old stuff. Pre war I think. Should be here in a day or two.
