It was the Arma Hobby Hurricane I kit that I ordered a while back, and it's SUPERB! It'd be a shame to whiff it really, so I expect it'll be built OOB eventually. But it's just as good as all the reviews reckon.

Good to know Kit, I've been looking at that myself

A VERY handy pic there H, I'll use it as a reference for my twin-pack engine plans. Thanks for posting.

I just checked the relevent thread and all the pics are still showing for me: http://www.whatifmodellers.com/index.php/topic,22793.msg329458.html#msg329458

Let me know if you can't see them and I'll put them up again.

Rick Lowe: Yes, it is, in effect, a twin-pac Huey, but the backstory has it as an entirely fictional product of a fictional country, and the style was inspired by the Westland Scout, i.e. very basic with everything exposed.

No idea how it fits yet Chris, and it'll be a while before I try I expect, but it OOZES quality. The 'Expert level' kit has lots of PE stuff and paint masks too, LOTS of them for the Hurri's canopy of course.

The only down side I can see is that the 'ribs' on the rear fuselage are pretty faint, and may vanish entirely under a coat of paint, but that'll await the build to be sure of course. It also had two props and three spinners...  :o

I can see the whole lot thanks H, and very useful they are too. I'd forgotten all about that wonderful build and it's very inspirational.

Just one thing, shouldn't Percy the Pilot be in the right hand seat? Chopper captains fly from the RH side.........  ;D ;D

Ah, thanks - I thought it looked different from the usual... and on a Charlie-model, too - should have picked that up on that straight away (hangs head in Shame...)

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Cheers Kit

Meanwhile the 2 Techmod sheets I ordered on Friday arrived today. Free 2nd class postage and at this time of year I think the P.O. and Hannants deserve a

So I now have sufficient options for my PZL P42 and PZL P37's

He might be an instructor.  Or else you've identified a Soviet sleeper-agent pilot who forgot a bit of his Doing What Britishers Do training....

No stash increase as such for Xmas but I did get a whopping Hannant's credit slip so the stash will be gaining some new comrades in the New Year

As Zenrat said. I mean, Cheshire shouldn't have an air force either....

IIRC there was some issue that made him fit better, or easier to fit, in that seat.

Why?

It's safer, the pilot has to lean over and look down to watch the guys on the ground, the
side window is replaced with a blown bubble to make it easier, usually  with the bottom
cut out and a small auxiliary instrument panel mounted to the outside in the pilot's line
of vision. Leaning to the left over the collective is safer than trying to lean over with the
cyclic in your hand because, due to the control layout, leaning to the right limits your range
of motion more than leaning to the left.
